Yet another example of Church leaders failing to protect children

I won’t post the details of the abuse from the article, it’s not nice reading. Here’s the salient part…
There are so many examples of this kind of thing now. That phrase “negligent hiring” resonates. The Church still appoints Bishops and others who work with children without the necessary protocols, checks, and safeguards.

The complaint names the church, the Temple Corporation of the Church of Latter-Day Saints and the Corporation of the President of the Santa Rosa California Stake and unnamed others as defendants.
The suit accuses them of negligence, negligent supervision of a minor, sexual abuse of a minor and negligent hiring and supervision, among other claims.
According to the complaint, the defendants had a duty to protect the minor plaintiff, including having a red flagging system to identify and track sexual predators.
The plaintiff is suing for unlimited damages and is demanding a jury trial.
