Premiering at 12 am ET on September 11th: How I became a "fan" of Louis C. Midgley

https://youtu.be/vE98u7Xv1vM
In response to a viewer's request (yes, I take requests!), I share my views on the notoriously aggressive LDS apologist Prof. Louis C. Midgley of Brigham Young University (retired since 1996). In addition to explaining why some critics and liberal Mormons do not care for Prof. Midgley, I reveal what I appreciate about some things he has done.

I look forward to the episode. When the day's work is done I will check it out. As a preliminary comment, my first encounter with the existence of the midge was some FARMS book, it could have been FROB, but it had a small picture of him. I don't recall the article, but he was memorable because "Lou Midgley" is real close to "Hugh Nibley", and he looked like Nibley in the picture, even posing in front of books (imagine I confused two old white guys born into Aryan-leaning religions). I don't recall the article, but for whatever reason I remember going back to it and then reading the name carefully and thinking, "oh, this is a different guy." so because of that, he stuck in my mind. Boy, was it a marvelous study of how reality unfolds to briefly converse with the person behind that picture from all those decades ago on Gina Colvin's blog.

I can definitely see mistaking Midgley for Nibley based on the small, black and white photographs used for authors on books. I hope you enjoy the episode. Gina Colvin gets a mention, as does Reed Benson, D. Michael Quinn, and the Tanners. It should be fun!

I heartily agree. One of the most hilarious and gratifying remarks I’ve ever seen on “SeN” was DCP telling someone to *never* bring up the 2nd Watson Letter again! Priceless! I mean, why doesn’t he throw down some “perfectly reasonable” Negative Apologetics? You know, since he loves “smashing” critics? lol!!!!
