The Afore mentioned that the subject matter for 6DIA was not his idea, but that of the production team. Which suggests he’s a bit clueless as to what to make a movie about. The end result of 6DIA suggests the production team is equally clueless about what audiences want to see. So your suggestion and those of others will surely be gratefully received.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2024 6:21 pmMark my words, Six Days in August will be remembered as the Reefer Madness of Mormon themed films, to be laughed and cackled at (by Mormons and non-Mormons) for years to come.
For the Afore's third film, I would love to see him tackle a lessor known aspect of Church history. Maybe a film about Cain's appearances to early LDS members, his appearance at the Laie Temple and thousands of recent sightings along the Wasatch Front?
It would put butts in the movie seats, guaranteed. Maybe title the film, Cain's Not Dead?

Re: Six Days in August D.O.A.?
For the next project, I'd like to make a suggestion for something a little different: a multi-day multi-media presentation in which each medium is part of the message. What appears below is merely a brief outline - I'm sure that a talented and experienced executive producer would do it justice - in whatever form s/he thinks would be truly just and equitable, and a good match for the quality of the idea.
I'm deliberately omitting any mention of the subject matter, but I feel sure that the superb thinkers on this board will discern it before too long.
Scene 1
Live actors on stage set the scene, and describe the historical context for the presentation. As they talk about the content, many faithful LDS, apostates, and never MOs alike, will discover exciting and new (to them) concepts - some of which may be more than a little disturbing to present-day sensibilities.
To enjoy an authentic experience, the audience must be prepared to move about the theater. The reason should be, or quickly become, obvious. They must also be prepared to devote most of a day to the Scene 1 experience.
Although there could well be multiple versions of Scene 1, it may be better to stay with a single version, for fear of totally exhausting the audience.
Scenes 2 to x-1
Similar in principle to Scene 1, but in movie form, with progressively better production values, each scene deals with a newer version of the movie. In some early scenes, and in some theaters, the audience must still be prepared to move. To the relief of the audience, the movies become progressively shorter.
To add excitement, and keep the audience on the edge of their seats, a narrator explains, between scenes, what significant changes are represented in the following scene, so that the audience may be on the lookout for them. Perhaps audience members could be encouraged to make brief notes to allow them to compare "scores" during an after-presentation party, with a "righteousness" prize for the people with a score of zero. Audience members named Peter and Molly appear most likely to win a prize.
Scene x
The narrator explains that the organization behind the presentation appears to have been experiencing financial difficulties (investment funds still have not achieved a trillion USD), and so has had to cut back on production costs.
This final scene takes the form of a PowerPoint presentation, or, in low-income theaters, 35mm film strips run through a cheap portable projector.
Do I have a future in this business, or what‽‽‽

Re: Six Days in August D.O.A.?
I am pleased to provide an update on the box office numbers for Six Days. (The Internet in Kaysville is a bit spotty and slow.) According to Box Office Mojo, the movie grossed a total of $388,683.
A few notes:
1. I am pleased that the film did especially well on Smithmas Day, grossing $95.
2. October 11 was the film’s high point in terms of box office, grossing $53,321. (That figure includes box office from the movie’s gala European premiere and the sneak preview screenings in the United States.)
3. On the other end of things, the film grossed $6 on November 24 and $7 on December 9.
Congratulations to the filmmakers.

I’m hopeful for an Oscar season re-release! The actor who plays Brigham speaking in tongues will surely be in the running.
The end credits song “O give me back my Prophet dear” is set to be performed by Lady Gaga at the Dolby Theatre during the ceremonies, per an insider source.

Finally the real objective behind these film projects has been revealed...
How many Saints have been perfected and how many converts have been gained, as a result of Witnesses and 6DIA? Roughly?
If they want as many people as possible to see these films, instead of hiding them behind a personal data harvest, stream them on YouTube.
https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danpeters ... films.htmlJust like the Three Witnesses, the Eight Witnesses, and the many other witnesses since, we invite you to be a witness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of living prophets, of ongoing revelation, and especially of our Savior Jesus Christ. For the last several years we have dedicated our efforts to testifying of these things by proclaiming the Gospel and helping to perfect the saints through various media projects, including the theatrical movies Witnesses and Six Days in August. We invite you to join us in getting this essential message to as wide an audience as possible.

Last I heard there was at least 4 baptisms due to the film? Some areas have not shared all their returns yet on the polls, (Ireland is dragging their feet, as is Australia, but this small oversight may be forgiven, they have a lot to get done as countries, as we all surely understand and know, so grace is extended) so the numbers could balloon to as high as 7. That would make sense cosmologically because 7 is the "virgin" number in antiquity, (the wisdom of the Pythagoreans, not to mention those adamantine Neoplatonists) could very well be being tapped into here for an authenticating conclusion) and a very important point of scintillation to those so spiritually tuned in...I Have Questions wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2025 8:46 amFinally the real objective behind these film projects has been revealed...https://www.patheos.com/blogs/danpeters ... films.htmlJust like the Three Witnesses, the Eight Witnesses, and the many other witnesses since, we invite you to be a witness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, of living prophets, of ongoing revelation, and especially of our Savior Jesus Christ.
