"Resistance from those who hope to see the nation fall."

This is a malignant falsehood. It is natural that the color in the painting are narrow dark dirty and blue.

Is it TDS that causes me to dislike the color? One could be nice and say the colors could be better. Maybe if he opened eyes he would see more. Oops nice might slip away. Maybe like Hound he is ignorant of what people not in his political subcult actually think.

But he is just a pawn in their game. He spreads propaganda created by people fully aware of the falsehoods. Falsehoods which if repeated often enough sound like they must be true because everybody knows its that way. (everybody the pawn hears)
It’s TDS that causes McNaughton to be a talentless bozo who paints clueless, grotesque agitprop paintings.
Kishkumen, yes though I find myself worrying about the subject a bit. Perhaps it is a bit of wonder seeing how far he pushes his limited talent and abilities. He puts together quite a bit of stuff to tell his cliches. I might even find some of the painterly awkwardness charming if not for the message.

Looking at a bunch of his work, I see the whole collection of Mormon John Birch type doctrines wedded to Trump. The wedding is a stretch but Jon is convinced. I remain puzzled by that phenomenon. Those in that thought world seem to hold those doctrines with more passion than their religious belief. Or those at the heart of their religious belief.

Perhaps I look at his pictures for clues to the mystery of such belief. Jon is quite genuine in his artistic expression.

I really like you, huck. You keep me grounded. Your humanity in the face of evil keeps my faith in human goodness alive.

Yes, as with many such things, the work of McNaughton is interesting in itself, even if it is not much to look at in terms of artistic skill, sublimity of message, or nuance of expression. As part of the history of fringe Mormonism's love affair with fringe American politics, it is a goldmine of content to examine.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
