BYU's War On Wanking: Saving Private Ryan's Private Parts

Post by Everybody Wang Chung »

Many of you will remember the embarrassing boner BYU-Idaho made with this ridiculous, over-the-top video. BYU created what may be the most absurd anti-masturbation video ever, comparing a young man's struggle not to touch his wiener, to a soldier wounded in combat. In a bizarre, almost Saving Private Ryan-style reenactment, we see a soldier in distress while BYU's Kim B. Clark urges male students to turn in their roommates who are "jerkin' it."

The analogy is, frankly, a slap in the face to the brave men and women who have endured the psychological, physical, and emotional tolls/trauma of actual combat. Real war puts soldiers and their families through hell, a struggle hardly comparable to a young man's decision to not touch his penis.

In other words, maybe show a little more respect for those who have sacrificed their lives and limbs for our country, BYU?

Why does BYU think that it’s a uniquely male activity?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.
