First Presidency Roulette Poll 1: Who will be the new first counselor in the First Presidency?

I would guess that the Quorum of the Fourteen Apostles will gather in a temporary Holy of Holies (given that the Salt Lake Temple is closed) on Sunday to put an ignominious end to the so-called apostolic interregnum (a decidedly non-scriptural term) by reorganizing the First Presidency and ordaining a new apostle. A press conference or announcement will probably then follow on Monday or Tuesday. In any case, I’m seeking predictions as to who will be the counselors in the new First Presidency as well as who will be the new apostle. Will Henry Eyring be retained? Will Dieter Uchtdorf return to his former position? Please cast your vote for each position. No voter ID or valid temple recommend is needed to vote.

With a DM voter turnout of 3.4 percent, the clear winner is Henry Eyring, who received 43 percent of the vote for first counselor (6 of 14 votes). David Bednar received 21 percent of the vote (3 of 14 votes). Five individuals—Holland, Uchtdorf, Cook, Christofferson, and Rasband each received one vote (7 percent of the vote). Notably, Andersen, Stevenson, and “Other” (which category included the four most-junior apostles, “a random Seventy” and “a BYU president”) received 0 votes. Seniority seems to matter.

Eyring, 92, is a natural choice for first counselor given that he was second counselor to Nelson for more than seven years. He was second counselor to Hinckley and first counselor to Monson. (It’s notable that Eyring was the third-most junior apostle when Hinckley called him to serve in the First Presidency.) Eyring has been in the First Presidency for approximately 18 years. If Eyring is not selected as a counselor, he will be the 14th individual who was not retained as a counselor by the new president.

Bednar would give some relative youth to the First Presidency. Oaks is 93 years old.
