Who says crime doesn’t pay… Elder Gérald Caussé is the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks and the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
I guess this guarantees his silence at any rate.

It's wonderful to see the worldwide church adding an apostle of color to represent the growing population of diverse saints.

I guess having an Apostle who facilitated shell company fraud is better than having a Prophet who committed multiple acts of fraud and sexual abuse. Wait......

LOL DCP points out that the original apostles were very closely related.
Apparently we need more nepotism in the world’s richest religion to conform more closely to the divine pattern.
Folks, you can’t make this stuff up.

I was kind of hoping they would add a little diversity to the Q15. After all, this is supposedly a worldwide organization. Maybe next time.

Caussé has been interviewed by various Utah media outlets, including several television stations (KSL, KUTV, and KTVX), the Deserted News, and the Salt Lake Tribune. I didn’t notice any questions about his role in the Ensign Peak scandal.
I learned from the interviews that Oaks extended the calling to Caussé without asking Caussé’s wife, Valérie Caussé, to be present. (She was two floors higher in the building at the time.) Section 30.2 of the General Handbook states: “If the member is married, the leader invites the spouse to be present when the calling is extended.” An asterisk should be added to this sentence to indicate that it doesn’t apply when leaders call men to serve as apostles for life. This is a church that believes in the importance of family.
