Apparently, either they or the deer were terrifying to the residents.

What point is the opening post trying to make? 'Cause it looks like some sort of spam.

In an attempt to salvage the thread, I’ll add something (I hope) of substance.

Recently DCP was interviewed on a podcast. I forget which one, I just had it playing in the background half listening.

At one point, DCP claims that he was riding in the car with Nibbley. Nibbley confided in him that there was something real to the Adam God theory. That Brigham wasn’t entirely wrong. Nibbley had worked it all out to his satisfaction.

When DCP pressed him to reveal it, Nibbley refused to say another word about it.

Now DCP thinks he really had some well thought out logical way to save Brigham on this. But I see it differently, I see it as another instance of Mormons refusing to put their beliefs to the test. They fear that their beliefs will fold under any scrutiny.

DCP for example refuses to share personal spiritual experiences that prove Mormonism true to him. He’s under no obligation to do so. But I suspect there’s a slight bit of embarrassment and trepidation he would suffer if he told the stories. And similarly with Nibbley, his Adam God theory likely wouldn’t hold water when expressed to another person.

DCP also refuses to test his water dousing experience. The story is too useful for him, testing it would only risk destroying the faith promoting myth.

So theres my two cents to save this strange thread.

Of all the animals to choose from, a bear, an elk, a muskrat, or perhaps a majestic bird, I wonder why God chose to make his earthly appearance to Martin Harris in the guise of a deer. The deer must hold a special place in God's heart.

At least Adam and Eve have their holy garments of animal skins on, hiding their naughty bits.

Hehe. Well I was going to follow it up with a couple of links, but I got distracted and forgot.

Here are the links:

Mental Ward Radio with Jonah ("Mister Nincompoop") Barnes and their preposterous treatment of the Adam/God doctrine. I do not recommend this video for anyone who vomits easily:

And the fabulous takedown rejoinder by Bill Reel and RFM. They bring the receipts big time.

Hence how some folks open their prayer: “Deer God …”

Where did they get them?

Did they eat the apple, figure that they were busted, and then go on an animal killing spree? No wonder that deer is giving them the stink eye.
