Merry Christmas!!

Post by MG 2.0 »

As some have wished others a merry and joyous day on Joseph Smith's birthday this month I think it is even more important to recognize the birth of the Savior.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yXWoKi5x3lw

I know folks want to recognize Joseph's birthday, and that's fine, but members of the LDS church along with other Christians celebrate the birth of the Savior as being paramount in the annals of human history. In this video the church has given us a well produced and beautiful narration/story of the nativity.

Merry Christmas Eve and Merry Christmas tomorrow!

It is the ministry and teachings of Jesus Christ that are at the core of what the CofJCofLDS is all about. Sometimes this is forgotten or ignored by those that change their views/focus.

I realize this video presentation isn't for everyone, but especially for the Christians that participate here, you might find it edifying and a source of inspiration.

I think the production value/quality is right up there with the best. Simple but powerful.

Regards,
MG

”in the animals of human history”? Calling Jesus an animal is horrendous MG. Please edit your post to be significantly less offensive.

“Regards MH”? Are you losing the plot?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

Assuming MH(?) means 'annals,' really? When mentalgymnast has consistently given us evidence that stereotyping 'critics' is paramount to him?

Ahh, the passive-aggressive trolling from a passive-aggressive troller who wants us to know that the teachings of Christ are at his core, while he stereotypes again.
MH
Who?

Seriously, though, who uses the birth of Christ as a vehicle to express his stereotyping bigotry? Apparently mentalgymnast does.

Isn't this a more appropriate thread for April 6?

It’s also ignored by the First Presidency when it comes to financial matters. And then secrecy and nefarious shell company schemes come before anything Jesus might have said. Where did Jesus teach the principle that protecting the child abuser is a higher priority than protecting victims and potential victims?

Absolutely. Christmas in December is actually disrespecting the birth of Jesus by trying to hijack Hanukkah instead of celebrating the birth of Jesus on his birthday.

Says the same guy who just this week claimed that people who are adamantly opposed to warming centers in their neighborhood to keep homeless people from freezing to death are not going against the teachings of Jesus because what Jesus said 2000 years ago about feeding the hungry and clothing the naked is not relevant to the "modern" question of whether Jesus is cool with you letting homeless people freeze to death.

I posted the Merry Christmas wish for those that celebrate Christmas late last night. I did not proof read it as I might normally do. I should have said "annals" rather than animals. And, of course, I am MG...not MH. :)

The video posted focuses on the primary reason we celebrate Christmas and emphasizes the meaning and purpose of Christ's birth into the world

For those interested here is a link to this year's Christmas Devotional in which members of the church and their friends come together to further celebrate and recognize the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Christians from all traditions may enjoy this presentation as it shares the Good News of His miraculous birth.

The hell? Jesus did all that? I think Jesus probably wishes they had flushing toilets back in the day. All y'all Jesus experts and other people's Jesus experts are so smart. Gosh.

In the video I linked to in my original post we hear Mary singing to the newborn Christchild. The story behind that can be found in this video:

Along with other interesting tid bits of information having to do with the production of the video narrative.
