Nelson’s legacy: Policy and business as “revelation”

Scripture Central has a slick new podcast with an admittedly charismatic young host. He interviews in a very modern catchy style, typical of the very popular “Diary of a CEO” podcast.

Anyway, today the interview is a relief society president and her experience in dealing with Rusty Nelson. She’s not important enough on her own, of course. Her importance comes from her proximity to the man.

What strikes me is the amount of times that she describes normal business operations as revelation. Rusty implemented plans that had been in motion for years before him- revelation! Rusty listened to his advisors - revelation! Rusty made some administrative changes to the church - revelation!

The quiet part she can’t say is that he missed the biggest revelation possible - the COVID pandemic. But she does have an answer - we have to be ready for revelation.

The implication is it’s the world’s fault that Rusty couldn’t warn us about COVID. Shucks. I guess we only deserved the critical revelation about ending the use of the word “Mormon.”

Nonetheless, it’s a good video by scripture central. I have to admit I am growing fond of their podcast. It’s leaps and bounds better than Interpreter’s latest stuff!

I note that Don Bradley is a regular guest. So in that respect, he should be along here anytime soon to answer all those pending questions he has stacking up against some assertions he made on here…

Interpreter can only dream about viewing numbers like Stephen Jones is getting.

Those women are oblivious to the benevolent sexism they have been subjected to. They enjoy the pedestal they have been put on but are unaware it restricts their movement. Two plus two equal one hundred? That is straight up Orwellian enforced falsehood.
