Hi,

I would like to know why Mormons believe that baptism is a prerequisite for salvation? The thief on the cross wasn't baptised but went to heaven.

the thief on the cross went to spirit paradise. There, he would eventually hear the fulness of the gospel from the Mormon missionaries and someone on earth would need to do a proxy baptism for him.

Good question on whether this has been done.
