I'm starting this thread to bring some positivity to this forum. Because tell ya the truth, reading through this forum, I think most never Mormons reading this forum would overwhelming choose to hang around Mormons than ever consider hanging around 10 people that post on this forum!! I know I would?

Mormons are some of the nicest and most welcoming people you can ever meet! They value charity, helping one another, helping neighbors, helping people in other countries that are less fortunate and they value family. One thing I've learned from this board is that exmormons like the ones that post here hold Mormons to an impossible standard, a standard of perfection that is unattainable for any human! Yes, Mormons strive for perfection, but who cares! Nothing wrong with striving for something like perfection.

The exmormonism that is on display on this board seems like it strives for the tearing down of anything and everything that's Mormon! And it seems like it's being done so the people here can feel better about the choices they made that have made them so bitter!

So yeah, this thread is going to be a place I can post positive stories about Mormons and Mormonism. Let's see if anyone here can get beyond their internal hatred for Mormonism and post anything positive about the religion we grew up in. Good luck to all of you! Because I doubt anyone on this forum has the ability to post anything positive a Mormonism.

I don't think many of us care whether a normal person would spend an hour with us based on what they read on this board. You may be the only person dumb enough to imagine that this board's content is representative of all of our individual personalities in real life.

I would rather be cast into outer darkness than spend 10 minutes around someone who so rabidly supports Trump and MAGA and makes it such a core part of their identity here in the forum. Just my 2 cents… since we’re laying it all on the table…

I get the impression a lot of middle ground Americans are starting to feel similarly about the fanatical MAGA folks, including those nice Mormons.

You really need to keep your puppets more organized. It's hilarious that the board’s most negative, bitter and angry poster is trying to lecture us about positivity. You claim you want positive stories, yet your entire posting history is extremely angry, negative and reads like a desperate cry for therapy.

Hound, you seemed to have lost track about what your thread was going to be about. Going by the title and part of the unfocused first paragraph, I suggest you may be surprised.

If your suggestion contains the hidden assumption that the average person is a conservative FFFF nutbag, giving you the benefit of the doubt, you may lose as several of these types have had a high regard for the forum as intellectual criticism of Mormonism is exactly what they want given evangelical leanings. Your post fails to understand that there is far more prejudice towards Mormonism from evangelical Christianity then there is from center left leaning ex members.

You are banking on the average person to unite with Mormons on grounds of right wing politics, but if we’re talking about such a person who in addition is interested in the topic of religion and cults such that they’d join a forum with a religious theme, then the vast majority are going to want to spend time with the critics. I can’t recall ever encountering a conservative Christian who has posted here or on any Mormon forum who has united with pro Mormon posters against critics.

I am thankful for Mormonism because it has showed a plethora of examples that span over two hundred years which gives exemplary insight into human psychology. Psychology that shows that people can believe one man can become God's mouthpiece and will follow their instructions to the letter. It can alter one's epistemology to the point it is non functional or often works in reverse. I am thankful for you hound of heaven for opening my eyes to the truth. He’s gone from calling Trump the Antichrist to now practically volunteering to be the surrogate for his baby. You honestly need a master's degree in diagramming to keep up with all of Horny's backstories.

I had the unfortunate experience of crossing paths with Donald Trump back in 1990 during my time working on a high-end construction remodel in New Jersey. He and his team were brought on as consultants to assist us in navigating the challenges we encountered during the project. I'm not sure about the exact amount that was paid for their services, but it was definitely excessive. Right from the beginning, it was clear that their team's main focus was to acquire our project for a fraction of its worth, so they could gain complete control. Being in a room with Trump was, and probably still is, a complete waste of time. However, he possesses a certain charisma that captivates those who cross paths with him. This is truly a unique experience. He's taken a similar approach with the Republican Party. He confidently strode in and effortlessly assumed control, while others willingly yielded to his authority. In my opinion, it's quite clear that he's not being truthful and I find it difficult to comprehend why anyone would support him.
