Nope. I have already explained why I said what I did. Read my posts.

Making stuff up again?

and,

[X] I promise I WILL do it again

Maybe you should do a little less thinking, MG. Think about that.
Here was my response to Lemming:

OK, I’ll take a moment to interact with you at your level of discourse. At the time I wrote the post I was thinking specifically of the Proclamation on the Family. I wasn’t going beyond that. Morley brought up the fact that there have been other marriage arrangements in LDS history.

The fact remains that there have never been intimate homosexual relationships that have been approved or solemnized in the LDS church. That’s all the time I hope to give to your inquiry, but I would expect you may have something more to nit pick and squabble about.
It didn’t necessitate checking all of the boxes.

MG

Shulem,

It's Quinn's 'Same-Sex Dynamics among Nineteenth-Century Americans A Mormon Example'. Both Joseph Smith and BY loved to snuggle with men. Also, lots of same sex passionate letter writing, kisses, hand holding, etc. If you did this Crap today, at BYU, your ass would be gone.

I know, right? That was pretty weird to read, but the references are right there to check. There was a lot going on.

If I believed mg were just an idiot I wouldn't have placed him on ignore, but I arrived at the inescapable conclusion he's an idiot-troll best left to others since they seem to enjoy making him an example of bad thinking.

I am of the opinion that you, sir, ought to look in the mirror.

How much do you want to bet that the idiot-troll is completely unaware of the fact that Brigham Young insisted on sharing beds with his Bishops when he'd travel? That he'd literally snuggle with them stating that sharing an embrace, in bed, with another man was the only way to truly love?

- Doc

Please share your juicy information on that. That's not something I'm familiar with.

Give us the dirt, please.
 it is quite the story, Shulem.

Nobody said you had to check all the boxes. The boxes were provided to check if you felt any of them applied to what you were thinking. But you checked none of the boxes -- not even the box that said you would not do it again. Hey, I can't read your mind.

Why are you telling him to look in the mirror? Why are you throwing Jesus quotes at Doc? He's not a Christian. If he has problems then so what. He's pointing out that YOU have problems and he doesn't have to be a good Christian to do that. You however, on the other hand, better be a good Christian or we will nail you to the nearest cross!

It's so weirdly tiresome when an idiot-troll cracks out the scripture. As if it's a sort of talisman that somehow legitimizes them when in reality it just underscores their inability to think for themselves and they resort to the words of other people to make themselves feel better about being idiot-trolls.

Anyway. I bet you good money that the idiot-troll doesn't know about temple recommend holding LDS men naked swimming with the boys at the SLC YMCA and local hot springs, all Male dances, or Mormon men performing in drag like it was the most natural crap in the world. Try doing that at BYU now and you'll find yourself kawku'd up the yazu'd.

- Doc
Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

Here’s another quote, this one not from the Bible: If the shoe fits, wear it.

...people often bully and call other people names due to their own low self-esteem and the name-calling is usually not about the target but instead a reflection of their own insecurities.

I know I’ve at times fallen into this trap. Even on this board. Christian...me...or non Christian...you... I think we can always do better.

If not now, when?

Less likely if it's a GA. You reminded me that another reason why same-sex relations may very well become accepted before the Church deals with other social issues like women and the priesthood. There likely have been many gay GAs already, but in the closet. In fact, it's almost unthinkable that out of the thousands of GAs over the centuries, that none have been gay.

An additional bump might come one day if a well respected GA turns out to be gay, and comes out during one of the important temple ceremonies, and garners sympathy from his peers. I don't see that happening with the current leadership. But 10-20 years from now there will definitely be a higher sympathy level, even if it doesn't rise to acceptance. One who has enough backing from the Brethren to come out publicly, even if its to announce a life of celibacy positively embraced, will still chip away at perceptions of gospel norms.
