It's been a long time since I've posted on this board and it's funny that I ended up on this thread. The Book of Abraham was a "catalyst" for me leaving Mormonism.
I see the OP is playing the game of life the best way he knows how but he is clearly still in the cave and unable to see the true light is not his shadows. Even with others condescending like the grace of God to reenter the cave and help him see that the shadows are not the true light are being rejected by him.
Leave him to his shadows and truths. He's not ready and may never be.
Best to you OP. I wish you well.
Right, and he'll just continue to try and justify Smith's false ideas using any kind of symbolism and expression in order to try and find some kind of parallel to make it work in his own mind. It's all in Ed's mind -- his own little world of self expression and thought as he pretends to marry Smith's Egyptian with conventional Egyptology. What a futile exercise in stupidity -- I've been guilty of that back when I was an apologist having dived deep into the silly realms of trying to make something out of nothing in effort to show Smith was correct. It's anything goes, a total free-for-all.
No matter what Ed does, he cannot tell us the name of the King in Facsimile No. 3 and neither can he justify Smith's silly explanations therein. Try as he may, he will fail every single time.
Anyway, I'm done with him and he's gone now.
Lem (if ur still there),
Really though, poor Ed was so angry when he wrote that post threatening US (and you) that he actually said "I swear" that he would come after us financially and ruin us if any of his children ever committed suicide as a result of being influenced by what we have to say on this board regarding our opposition to Joe's Egyptology. Serious, he's very unstable. Do not engage him, it's a waste of time. I will never engage him again. He's freaking crazy.
This thread is dead to me.
