I love it when Lem "embarrasses" herself with actual evidence.

Maybe you can help Lem. Which of the quotes they posted is an example of an ad hominem?Philo Sofee wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 12:51 amI love it when Lem "embarrasses" herself with actual evidence.

Comical. Nit picking the uttermost literal definition of a phrase, whereas of course “revelation” or “prophecy” or “translation” can be bent ad infinitum to defend a position.
As Lem properly identified, one just one:
IHAQ makes a post. Sledge responds with a judgment that IHAQ makes low quality threads, implying IHAQ’s ideas are not worth addressing because low quality threads are, well, low quality.
But who cares, except that a certain someone likes to make condescending comments in place of logical arguments, and then tantrum when called out for the fallacious behavior.
Plenty of us make logical errors. Which is why this board can be so colorful. But tantrum over the mirror being held up? Sheesh. Grow up.

is ad hominem as it is a personal insult in place of a response to the content of an argument or position.Sledge wrote:How many new, low quality threads to you start per day, IHOP?

Definition of Ad Hominem
Ad hominem is a Latin word that means “against the man.” As the name suggests, it is a literary term that involves commenting on or against an opponent, to undermine him instead of his arguments.

So you believe that commenting on the quality of threads that someone creates is the same as ad hominem?Dr Moore wrote:As Lem properly identified, one just one:

You’re wrong.

You mocked the person in every one of them, so that looks to me like 100% I saw no dealing with the actual substance of the posts. You appear more interested in poisoning the well against the person instead of what is typed. Erm..... ad hominem...Sledge wrote: ↑Sat Jun 05, 2021 1:04 amMaybe you can help Lem. No. I commented on their content every time.Philo Sofee wrote: You mocked the person in every one of them, so that looks to me like 100% I saw no dealing with the actual substance of the posts. Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.
