Montez's entire thesis is that BH Roberts lost his faith in the Book of Mormon. One of the main evidences they use is part of a radio address. They cherry-picked only the part of the radio address that supported their thesis, hoping that no one would be able to (or willing to) find the full address which actually does not support her thesis. Smoot with the help of "bloodhound" Matthew Roper took that challenge and totally destroyed Montez's argument and at the same time showed their scholarship to be sub-par.

Wait. You read her 180-page dissertation so you would understand the context of Smoot’s blog entry?

Sledge, I'm glad you're here to offer another perspective, but so far:

By all means... why is it not good?

Perhaps the notion that you can refute history with apologetics.

I'm glad to see that Smoot is taking a break from "Neville Neville Land" in order to do something more productive.

History is the full and complete historical record (the transcript of the complete radio address), not Montez’s cherry-picked partial version. Wouldn’t you agree?

If he is the owner of that blog he should take it down.
