Well here's another banner story for the Mormon church... one of the early DezNat people is the Asst AG in Alaska and the British The Guardian is covering it which is even crazier:

C’mon, man.

Hugh Nibley claimed he bumped into Adolf Hitler, Albert Einstein, Winston Churchill, Gertrude Stein, and the Grand Duke Vladimir Romanoff. Dishonesty is baked into Mormonism.

So he's left his job (did he fall or was he pushed?)...
No word yet on the Church taking any action, no disciplinary court thus far...why not?
https://www.sltrib.com/religion/2021/07 ... ney-under/Alaska’s embattled assistant attorney general, who was being investigated for reportedly using a #DezNat Twitter handle to post homophobic, antisemitic, sexist and racist comments on the social media platform, is no longer with the state’s Department of Law, according to the Anchorage Daily News.
A spokeswoman for the department told the paper that Matthias Cicotte’s last day was Tuesday but declined to say whether he resigned or was fired.
BYU AlumniCicotte, a graduate of Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, was accused of using the #DezNat Twitter handle @JReubenCIark — with an uppercase I in the last name, instead of a lowercase L — to advocate “various extreme positions,” according to an article in The Guardian, “including the summary imprisonment of Black Lives Matter protesters; vigilante violence against left-wing groups; and a punishment of execution for acts including performing gender reassignment surgery.”
Late Tuesday night, @JReubenCIark tweeted “will have more thoughts in a few days, but I want to thank everyone who has been praying for me and for my family. It means a lot to us.”

Wonder if this will prompt any case challenges and reviews in Alaska?

It was good to see that the head of the department is also a BYU alum and had no problem publicly denouncing the views as inconsistent with the department and his own personal religious beliefs.

Trick question. There are no penguins in Alaska!

Couldn't these sentiments also be found in random conversations of the Congressional Freedom Caucus, as well as at the CougarEat?... he advocated various extreme positions including the summary imprisonment of Black Lives Matter protesters; vigilante violence against leftwing groups; and a punishment of execution for acts including performing gender reassignment surgery,” the story said.
