Congrats, I have one more class starting in July and then I'm done and it's off to the rat race.

Well technically, liz, my sabbatical starts in September since its only for Fall semester. But I'm counting Summer recess as part of it.
I need a few days or weeks to decompress before I start working. And about a month of extra hard gym time...
But I have a lot planned: research and writing on a book project, pitching another book project (for which I think I need to get an agent), an essay for an anthology (accepted), a couple of proposals to send out (essay collections, not conference papers), a series of articles for magazines and some photography and film projects.
One of my film students gave me the best present on the last day of class: a refurbished Pixelvision camera. I've wanted one for ages! Can't wait to play with it.
Cheers, Moksha!

Never would have picked you for a Literature major, Nehor, but maybe the Tech writing balances that out?
For what its worth, I worked for three years as a technical editor before I started a PhD program. I worked for (what was then) Sperry Univac. My masterpeice was the Cobol Programmer's Reference Guide.
It was an absolutely hellish job and nearly turned me into an alcoholic.
But, hey, your miles may vary.

I'm an oddball. Most of my work experience so far has been training documentation and then actually teaching classes.
