Thank God there is another Dexter fan out there!!!
What did you think of the episode?
Do you think Quinn and Deb are going to become an item this season?

Re: Reminder- Dexter Season Premiere Tonight
I've sort of been dreading this season. I really liked Rita and I'm disappointed that she's off the show.
But, I'll plod along. 4 mostly kick-ass seasons has bought a bit of credit with me.
by the way, my theory: Harry Morgan is the "Dark Passenger."

I'm also really bummed about Rita being killed off. I think it was a big writer's mistake to do that. She was his link to trust and humanity. I was really frustrated when it happened last season; I think there was a lot more they could have explored with that relationship.
I have no idea how he is going to actually get out of the mess he put himself in with the FBI.
I'm drawn to the show because Dexter is the ultimate anti-hero. You can't help but root for him. You really want him to be able to continue to be able to literally "get away with murder". ;)
And, yes, I agree with you about Harry being the Dark Passenger.
Glad to know there are a few "Dexter" fans out there.

Re: Reminder- Dexter Season Premiere Tonight
WARNING: Contains spoilers for Season 5 Episode 1
That's just it though. Last season, Dexter did a few things that made me not-so-eager to root for him:
- Killing an innocent man, albeit accidentally
- Continuing his lies to Rita even when it put her in danger
- Getting sloppy enough to let Trinity kill Rita
And now, in this very first episode of the 5th season, Dexter kills another innocent man---this time not even as an accident (!). What happened to my beloved anti-hero?
I'm at a loss as to how the show will find a satisfying resolution to his family situation with Rita deceased. Also, Deb + Quinn = ew.
I fear my show may have jumped the shark.
P. S. -- Do we want to make this our weekly discussion thread, or start a new one?
