Can anyone recommend a good book on building muscle and losing fat. After looking online a bit I'm realizing I don't know beans about this subject.

Zee, if you plan on hitting up the gym I would get a personal trainer for a couple of sessions or go with someone that knows what they are doing.

I have read hundreds of articles online and it can actually get pretty confusing because they condridict each a lot. From what I have learned is you need to find out how your body responds to the different exercises. People have different bodytypes so you need to find out which body type you are and create a program that works for you. Oh and you have decide what your goals are as well. From that picture of Daniel Criage I take it you don't want to look like a huge bodybuilder but someone that is pretty ripped with a nice set of abs. That means you will train differently than someone who is a huge bodybuilder. At one point I wanted to be a bodybuilder and I read the arnold book the encyclopedia to bodybuilding. After I read that book I realized I did not have the time for it. Still some really good advice in there though.

Here are a few main things that seem to work for most people.

Eat lots of protein. 1 gram per pound you weigh a day.
Eat 6 times a day every 3 hours.
Eat healthy food and good fats.
Keep track of your calories and find out how much you need each day. You can do it with me on myfitnesspal.com
Workout each muscle it least once a week.
Switch your workout routine every 3 weeks.
Do 4-8 reps for bodybuilding, 8-12 for tone and building, 12 and over for toning.

Oh and I like bodybuilding.com for some good advice.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Rambo. I have considered going to a trainer actually. Maybe I will try that for a time.
