in my opinion, President Ronald Reagan was the last Great President that the United States had.

Why?
Reagan was nothing more than a corporate puppet. He was an actor by trade who did a hell of a job acting as a President as well. The funny thing about how he has been idolized by folks like Hannity, is that they don't even agree with his politics either. Support for unions, raising taxes, etc. All these things Reagan did proudly, and yet the so called "Reagan Republicans" (as they describe themselves on Facebook) reject all of this as nothing more than socialism.

I'm sure at least that many Americans want free ponies and ice cream too but we are a republic, not a ochlocracy, comrade Kevin.

I'll remember this the next time the idiots on the Right claim to give a rat's ass about what the "American people" want.
And being a republic doesn't change the fact we're still a representative democracy. My point was the hypocrisy that is so pervasive on the Right. They pretend to be interested in doing what the majority of Americans want, when in reality they're only interested in using this talking point on the rare occasion that their personal interests happen to jive with what the majority wants.

The idiots on the Left make the same claim while advocating policies that are opposed by a majority of the electorate.
In any event, I am not opposed to raising taxes on wealthier Americans to the levels under Clinton. What I am opposed to, however, are self-serving people who would not consider even a slight increase in taxes on their incomes, while clamoring for higher taxes on wealthier Americans.
