This article mentions Brent Ashworth. Looks like some people think Butch Cassidy survived and lived out his life in Washington state.

Re: Butch Cassidy--Did He Survive and Write an Autobiography?
Many, many years ago when I lived in SLC I had a chance to chat with Butch Cassidy's youngest sister. She was very old. She said that she remembered him coming to visit the family several times after his reported death.
I believed her.

That's interesting. Thanks for the link, Equality.
Although the evidence still seems pretty inconclusive to me, I've always had an interest in stories of family members who insisted that he visited them later in Utah...

Hey Blixa,
I found his sister's account very compelling, as well. It was just after the movie "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" was released and it was kind of a hot topic. She seemed quite amused at all the sudden attention. Very sweet lady.
