Best Conference Ever?

Post by _Kevin Graham »

David Bokovoy just posted this on Facebook:

BEST STAKE CONFERENCE EVER!!!!

Elder Dallin H. Oaks speaking today to Mormons in Utah County.

1. Despite the fact that this Presidential election has brought increased media focus upon the Church and has helped bring the Church “out of obscurity” (a positive thing), the Church does not endorse any political candidate or party.

2. Criticized the meanness and ugliness that has been shown in politics at all levels. Reminded Latter-day Saints to be kind when speaking about and with those with whom they disagree. We need to remember that despite our differences, we are first and foremost brothers and sisters.

3. Criticized ultra-ring wing political fanaticism that opposes established governmental authority and/or military as part of their interpretation of the eschaton (Ok, my word, but his point).

4. The Church advocates the storage of food for times of crisis but not guns and ammunition.

I wonder how any of this helps bcspace and his argument that Democrats cannot be true Mormons.

I really agree with Elder Oaks and David Bokovoy. I think Bc already realizes we are all brothers and sisters. He just doesn't want his siblings touching any of his stuff.
