To the tune of The Ballad of the Green Berets.
Righteous warriors, every one
Will not stop until we've won.
Gays will never recruit me,
A priesthood man of the GOP.
CTR rings on our hands,
The best men in all the land
Harry Reid is history
To priesthood men of the GOP.
With our children we will fight
'Gainst the left, and for the right.
Anyone but Pelosi
For priesthood men of the GOP
So the leftists cannot gloat
Exercise your right to vote,
Or my wife will, take it from me,
Run you down with an SUV.
Obama won by giving gifts
So we see the country shift
To a future of slavery
Save us, men of the GOP!
Freedom hanging by a thread
Who can say what lies ahead?
Obamacare spells misery
For Mormon men of the GOP.
Legitimate rape is no big deal,
The body knows just how to heal.
Abortion's wrong, except for me,
I'm a Congressman from the GOP.
The light is dimming now
We lost the vote, I don't know how.
Hang your heads and weep with me
Valiant men of the GOP.

Now THAT is a song worth singing!
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Bob, you had me rolling on the floor. Thank you.

Droopy, it is now time for you to fasten your chin guard and step into the lyric cage.

Re: Droopy's Lament
Unfortunately for Bob's valiant attempt at satirical humor, if anyone can find a single thread in the last seven years in which I have defended the GOP as a party, as opposed to incessantly criticizing it, please post what you find here.
I have defended conservatism against leftism here and in other forums for many years, not the GOP. The GOP has been the traditional home of conservatism within institutional politics, but only in the sense that conservatives have been tolerated there and been able, now and then, to form winning coalitions in national elections (just twice, actually) and exercise some influence over policy to one degree or another. Conservatives in the Democrat party, on the other hand, have either been excommunicated or left voluntarily from as it has drifted ever farther left over the past forty years.
Goody lyrics, though. I will have a response shortly...

Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father [in Heaven] and how familiar his face is to us

The way I see it, you believe yourself to be among the true believers of conservatism, hence the "righteous" of the GOP. I guess that was too subtle.
