Without question the coolest Christmas present I ever got was The Green Machine! (Big Wheel)

I loved that thing!

Big Wheel!

Hey, do you remember those motocross bicycles with the fake red plastic gas tanks? I always wanted one of those.

I suppose I could dig up some old childhood christmas present memories. I'll have to see if I can find images...

When I was ten I got a Crossman Air Rifle (pellet gun). Just like Ralphie in 'A Christmas Story" this was the best present a ten year old could receive. Especially since the pellet gun was a much more formidable weapon than Ralphie's BB gun. I still have it and it's in excellent condition.

I learned to shoot with this and no bird, rabbit or ground squirrel was safe when in my sights. I feel pangs of guilt for every one I shot, now. If there is an afterlife, I'm sure I will have to answer for each one.

Did you shoot your eye out?

H.

Funny, my mom brought that up (seriously). The eye patch I wear is considered fashionable now.

This doll was a favorite of mine. These were early jointed dolls and for some reason were sold through supermarkets rather than department stores. The style I had was this one in the velvet pants and ruffled shirt. I thought she looked like my grandmother so I always called her my Laura doll. I had a huge wardrobe of handmade doll clothes that my mom sewed for me.

I need to get Laura restrung. Her rubber bands have rotted out and she needs some other upkeep. Unfortunately she's still on the top shelf in my childhood bedroom in Utah. I should have her sent out to me so I can either repair her myself or find a local doll hospital.

Interesting, Blixa. Pure sex from the neck down and innocent childhood from he neck up.
I wonder if the manufacturers were aware of the mixed messages they were sending.

Not sure that these were my best present ever, but I still remember really, really wanting them and being so happy when my brothers and I got the three good guys along with their major accessories:
