I haven't crossed the American border since I was a kid (Stone Age timeframe) so I don't know if this is even possible. Haven't researched it, just asking. Couldn't the US build the wall and make Mexico pay for it by assigning huge entry fees to Mexican nationals at the border?

I have some doubts. People coming north for harvest are not coming north with full pockets.

It would be more practical perhaps to sell tunnel locations to the drug cartels. They could afford it , US dollars keep those pockets full.

It's amazing to me so many people are stupid enough to believe that our current economy is a disaster because of immigrants. You have to be either extremely stupid or a flat-out racist to buy that crap.

The economy is crap in this country because large corporations are not reinvesting in the US, and because profit is more important to stock holders than workers are. When huge sums of money are taken out of circulation because they're stashed overseas or sitting in some asshole's bank account, the economy suffers. Large corporations take advantage of the US infrastructure and market without giving anything back.

Blaming immigrants for the issues with the US's brand of capitalism is like blaming french fries for McDonald's crappy burgers. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

Historically we can also see Immigrants being blamed for all the bad things in society. People seem to need someone or something to blame for anything they see as bad. Racists tend to blame immigrants, especially illegal ones. The economy is very complex and many factors out of government control make it so they cannot really control the economy. If they could we would always see good times. Especially before asking voters to reelect them.

Years ago Target made a major expansion into Canada. They put in charge one of their executives from the US. a while later Target gave up because they couldn't figure out of to be successful in a market Walmart has no trouble with. They paid out about 120 million to those working for the company. Half of that went to one man who also returned to his old job back at Target in the US. The one man who was suppose to be responsible for target being successful in it's expansion. It seems in certain elite groups that are in charge and look out after each other, failure is richly rewarded.

It's funny to hear this from such an ardent supporter of Bernie Sanders.

Sanders said there was no question that immigrants lower the wages for American workers. He's called NAFTA disastrous because there is no way an American worker can compete with a Mexican worker making 25 cents/hour.

The irony now is Mexicans are losing their jobs to the Chinese which is causing an influx of Mexican immigration to America because, well, the NAFTA & Trans-Pacific Partnership is on an economic feedback loop.
