Murdoch may be selling off Fox

To non-partisan buyers like Disney or Comcast.
This would be a major political development as Fox, more than anything, is behind the madness in our country.

Anyone interested in buying FOX would only do so because FOX is making money. And they'd understand that it is only making money because it appeals to a large swath of Republican voters. It seems like a poor investment if their intentions are to buy FOX and then move away from the one thing that makes it such a big money maker.
I mean, how much did Murdoch really influence what kind of things were reported on the shows? Seems to me that as all Roger Ailes.

I don't. I don't feel the need to because I didn't say that Fox is the sole cause of anything. Rather, I think right-wing propagandistic media has a profoundly negative effect on conservative politics specifically and all politics generally. Every negative political trend in American conservatism is either worsened or caused by that phenomenon.

I think you are under-appreciating how much Fox is willing to be financially sub-optimal in pursuit of agenda. The best case scenario isn't even that Fox as conservative agitprop is entirely dismantled. If that happens, another source will quickly rise to fill the demand space. Instead, if a corporation was simply a moderating influence on it by trying to make it have MSNBC levels of journalistic responsibility - more Shep Smith types in the mix - it would drastically improve things. It's the relentless dishonesty and shock-jock oneupsmanship that's the most damaging thing.

That's quite a statement. You don't think some of these differences are simply natural?
I'm not sure what you mean. I take this view, which isn't even all that controversial, as sympathetic to self-described conservatives as it avoids painting them as inherently terrible and attributes faults in their culture - at least in part - to an external phenomenon driving it. I reject the view that liberals often self-indulgently have that they are just morally or intellectually superior to conservatives and that explains asymmetries between the groups along a variety of negative dimensions.
