Yes, make schools accountable and arrest the principle, teachers, and the bullies older than 10.

Hell no! It’s the state that should be accountable. They have much deeper pockets than local school districts and municipalities. After all, this is just another thread about who to blame. Wait, it’s the federal govt who should be sued since we got the biggest bully of them all as president.

No more discussion needed. Sue every taxpayer in this country!!!

Seems to be fair and follows the progressive logic of liberals!!

I love these intellectual threads!

Meanwhile, on planet Earth, the issue being debated is whether the school's actions, or knowing inaction, constituted liable negligence.

When did this become a new revelation to you EA? This is like every other issue in our society that liberals always ignore until there is money or votes in it for them. You, my son, are just another non contributing entitled benificiary of government handouts who likes to carry a flag during halftime for fanfare on this board. But please - you have your audience!!!

Carry on. (And you still disgust me - ooops, that will mean this post gets put in EA’s dungeon!!!)

WTF, who cares

No, they are not directly responsible for the death. That burden is mostly borne by those who did the bullying.

If bullying at school drives students to suicide (which does happen), their schools may, however, have failed in their duty to provide a suitable learning environment in which it is seen as unacceptable to amuse yourself by making people younger, weaker and less confident than yourself miserable. So doing is a reasonable target to set for any competent school management.
