When I was young I came across a serialized version of the book, Musashi which I've mentioned elsewhere on the board since it took on many of the same characteristics of scripture for me. After the Book of Mormon, it is the book I've read cover-to-cover more often than any other. I usually reread it every 5 to 7 years.

A year or so ago, I ended up buying a much different book on Amazon called Extreme Ownership, by a retired Navy Seal turned business consultant named Jocko Wilink. I was impressed enough by it that I gave a few copies away around the office. Through that, I ended up following his podcast and other appearances, and admit to being a bit of an admirer of his work ethic.
Episode 100 of his podcast was on Musashi and includes a guest, Tim Ferris who some may have either read or followed online. I was somewhat surprised to hear both of them talk about the book Musashi with much of the same feeling I had for it, and thought I'd share in case other's were interested:

ETA: To derail slightly, Jocko's podcast is typically about military books, leadership, and jujitsu. And squats. Lots of squats. He's unapologetically supportive of our military actions as a nation with an on-the-ground perspective. Again, some may enjoy that kind of thing as well while others certainly won't.

On top of possibly making Dr. Scratch's Top 10 list for 2018 on January 1...you're getting after it hard!
