"No signs of alien life in closest 1,300 stars, study says: 'We are left with zero candidates'"

No really. The discovery of alien life would really put a smile to my face, but it seems that won't happen anytime soon.

Ya knooow...I can't recall when/where, but I 'heard/read' about the popular sci-fi notion for the Dark Forest. This notion is about living in the quiet and deep dark forest at night, and how under the cover of this darkness and silence is where predators thrive and prey are the most vulnerable. Most of the forest creatures have "learned" that silence is a key to survival against this vast dark and dangerous expanse.....but not us....earthlings are standing in the middle of woods screaming out hello?".... point being, no response does not always mean no responders hear the call...and also, some humans use allegory, metaphor, simile, and stories to justify their faith-based hopes and dreams.....not you, of course...but some humans.

Well, before you ask... 18 year old alien chicks are likely to young for you too.

You should take heart, though. 1300 stars are just a drop in a massive bucket.

But an 18 year old alien chick will likely turn me on. I need to send "looking for love" messages to space.

I know, but it probably means that we don't have galactic neighbors. So it would be very difficult for me to find an 18 year old alien.

Don't give up. Where there is hope there is non-carbon based life.

One thing to recognize is the incredibly tiny dot humanity inhabits in the fabric of space/time. I think at some point we might find signs of life, but actual correspondence takes too long. It is just too hard keeping up these long distance relationships when it takes a few million years to get an answer to your letter.
