I'm tired of trying to make this distinction on behalf of Trump supporters. It doesn't matter much when the outcome is the same.
It's quick and safe enough to call them stupid assholes and be done with it. Simply saying they are stupid/ignorant is giving them more benefit of the doubt than they deserve. If they're supporting an asshole without knowing what that asshole is about, they're assholes too.
