The Treasury dept just voluntarily handed over financial information to help Republicans investigate Hunter Biden, a private citizen. This is the same Treasury dept that refused to hand over to House Democrats Trump's tax returns because they said right to privacy was paramount to any investigations and it would not release without a "legislative purpose."
The more corruption Trump gets away with, the more he pushes the envelope. If he can't get Ukraine to engage in a bogus investigation into his political rivals, then he'll just use an obsequious Treasury dept. to do it instead. This in my view is worse than trying to get China or Ukraine involved because now he's doing it right out in the open because Senate Republicans have made it clear he has carte blanche now. He has become the autocrat so many had feared.
Checks and balances no longer exist in this country. The Fed, the Treasury, the Justice depts along with the Senate, have willfully given up their independence and have handed over the keys of tyranny to Donald Trump. Gee, I wonder what he'll do with them.
