Well, if you frame the elite as being liberal intellectual elite this is too easy. Obviously Ivy League professors are pushing their elitist agenda onto people including the children of good people who won't put up with that much longer. So of course they are fighting back in school board meetings and on social media.canpakes wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 9:35 pmCultellus wrote: ↑Mon Nov 08, 2021 8:34 pmDo I need to remind you that the elites were against gay marriage and other LGBTQ rights? You recall that Obama ran a campaign AGAINST gay marriage? The Clintons too.
Your reframe is being rejected. Black Populism goes way back in our history. You can stop your racist reframe anytime. Don't let the shame get in your way, pal.
Which is populism - folks promoting critical race theory, or folks expressing their rage about it in school board meetings?
Talk about LGBTQ school issues next.
Your reframe needs a reframe.
If you frame the elite as the white power structure then critical race theory is being misrepresented by those in power to maintain their privileged status and marginalization of minorities. Who are the pure good people.
Or, you know, we could frame it as a problem where our national ideals of small d democratic access to opportunity has fallen short in meaningful ways and in so doing we can chart a path to better realizing those ideals. No conflict between elites and the people needed.
