I was miffed Joe was getting railroaded out the door, but man, that spectacular speech couple with the energy I’m seeing from the party made me reconsider my position, not that it matters since I only gave the DNP $50 and a vote. As far as how the DNC runs their own operation, well, whatever. I can only hope someone like Buttigieg gets a fair shot at the Presidency some day. I mean, barriers are being broken. We already had the first Atheist President in American history when the Right ironically elected Trump to the highest office, so who knows?

Don't sell yourself too short, just by donating that puts you into a much smaller portion of any party's larger voting base. Given the donation amounts we've seen flood in following Biden's announcement, especially from first time and small contributions, I suspect that was a large part of the DNC's calculus in calling for Biden to step aside.
As to Buttigieg, I think he likely will have plenty of opportunities, he'll only be 46 for the next go around. However, supporters may also need to be comfortable with the idea that it might not happen. The number of people that get to even run for President/VP is very small and a lot of things well outside one's own control have to fall in place for it to work. I like him a lot as a candidate, particularly his willingness to go to the proverbial lion's den, but I also would suspect if you could ask him he would say he just wants to do the most good in whatever capacity he can. Right now he is at the front of a fantastic media campaign and will likely continue to be a prominent person within the party. Continuing to build his image as a clear and concise communicator with a strong grasp of the issues can do nothing but bolster in future runs.

Your take on Trump as the first atheist president is fantastic. I have always thought of him as the first Norman Vincent Peale/New Thought president, which is close to the same thing, except a little more New Agey.
I agree that the positive vibes among the Democrats are very encouraging. Harris is up for the job, to be sure. She will be great, and I am crossing my fingers and toes that we will see the last of Li'l Donnie Dumpy-pants very soon. It will be a huge relief. Former president moron is so much less worrisome than future Fuhrer Moron.
I made my donation a couple of days after Biden dropped out. I couldn't resist the opportunity to contribute a few bucks to the campaign of someone who could be our first woman president.

I agree; never thought about it. Totally correct. And he's not just an "atheist" but the caricature of the kind of worldly atheist with no values beyond ego and the appetites of the flesh that is supposed to point to everything that is wrong with atheism.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

He is definitely a caricature of that and many other things. A caricature of a businessman. A caricature of a wealthy man. A caricature of a celebrity.

Pretty much. Vance is an example of who dumb people think smart people ought to be. Trump is a what dumb people think strength looks like. He's a placebo for folks who feel powerless because the world is changing that they swallow rather than understanding and adjusting with the change.

Dang. Nailed it, honor.
