I think people jot got overwhelmed and burnt out on politics because to some, it just seemed like nothing really matters anymore.
Without global scamdemic voting laws, turnout was bound to be lower in 2024 than 2020. Perhaps you can start concocting a climate change crisis and lockdown to enact emergency online voting provisions for the 2028 elections. I don't see another path to victory for you, given how poor the real world results of your policies were and will continue to be for working class American citizens. Even with all the big money and government censorship on your side, you still weren't able to convince enough people that Bidenomics was a success. Somehow you've convinced yourself that this is just a messaging issue. If only you had more money to educate people that groceries are actually less expensive now and what they really need is more inflation not less, to increase the rate at which you import third world poverty, not to limit it... Well that probably wouldn't work, but what else do you do when the only other alternative is to change your policies. Yeah, it's definitely just a messaging issue. You just need more big money campaign contributions by woke celebrities, no change of policy necessary. That's how out of touch with reality your mainstream media bubbles and Lichtman polls have become. Maybe you'd have done better had you not attempted to disenfranchise Trump voters through lawfare? This galvanized the right and helped them make gains with independents by demonstrating how antidemocratic you really are. When most Republicans would have folded like a $20 lawn chair under your partisan political prosecution, Donald Trump persevered and overcame it. You sorely underestimated how tough and resilient he is. The silver spoon weakling retard Drumpf as Schmo calls him, just TKO'd the entire Obama political machine along with the deep state!

I’ll always be glad that at least some Americans were willing to hold fraudsters and sexual abusers accountable for their actions.

Maybe the arc of the moral universe didn’t quite terminate in justice this time, but it’s good that it still bends toward it.

You do not think the power of Trump will forever destroy the arc of the moral universe?

The Trump Dance
This is part of the Cabinet selection process. Applicants must first form a circle, and face each other. Then they can begin.

So what you're saying is we're a nation of morons?

A record 80 million Americans are expected to travel for the holidays, and yet just a few weeks ago they were pretending they couldn't afford eggs.

I think Sam Harris nails it.

https://youtu.be/4wmfxA8J2B8?t=98

"The difference is, Trump is not ideological. Trump is in the Trump business. Trump just wants wealth and fame essentially, and he wants power in order to secure those things. I think there are very few people who think he wants to create the thousand year Reich. He wants to build condos and play golf. We're talking about a game show host who got marketed for 12 years on television as a brilliant businessman and half the country bought it. A quarter of the country has rallied to him like he's the messiah. And another quarter is just willing to look the other way as he he desecrates the most basic norms of our democracy."

The entire clip needs to be watched as Harris destroys Ben Shapiro and his disingenuous attempt to equate both sides. But that last statement highlighted above is what hits the nail right on the head. Trump had been branded and beloved for a decade on television and despite the mountain of evidence, some people have a hard time seeing him as the threat that he truly is and their confirmation bias kicks in every time he does something that would be political suicide for anyone on the left.

So he raped a woman? Nah, she probably lied about that.

Audio clips of him bragging about sexually assaulting women? Nah, that's probably just locker room talk. But I'll let FOX News get me enraged over Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky's consensual affair.

So he can't pronounce Thailand better than a seven year old and thinks there were airports during the Revolutionary war? Those were slips. But I'll let FOX News get me enraged over Joe Biden's gaffes resulting from his life long struggle with speech impediment.

So he can't get into a truck without falling backwards? Nah, he just slipped. But I'll let FOX News get me enraged over Joe Biden's posture and awkward walking, despite his known battle with spinal arthritis.

So he stole classified documents and tried to covered it up and has dozens of felony indictments finding him guilty on all counts? Nah, it could be Deep State plot to control everything, like they did when they stole the 2020 election but somehow forgot to use that same power to steal the 2024 election. I mean how could my favorite TV show FOX News be lying to me all these years when they basically assure me that there is never a good reason to vote for the Democrats because no amount of unchristian, unethical, unpatriotic, anti-American, morally depraved behavior from the Republican nominee could every justify election a black woman.

I remember the day the audio of Mitt Romney was released, and he made a comment about how half the country he could never win their votes because they want government to take care of them. That effectively destroyed his campaign and would have destroyed his political career entirely if he wasn't a Mormon Senator from Utah. Seems like yesterday to me. I remember exactly where I was on a cruise ship listening to the news about it.

Oh how far we've fallen as a country since that time. And it is because Trump's moral depravity and crimes have been dismissed by a country that was just a few years ago, all up in arms about a black man kneeling quietly before a football game.

Thanks for posting that. I don't know that I always agree with Sam Harris, he likes to do a bit both sides when they aren't equal, but it felt like he was the sane voice in this instance. I think Sam is right, Trump isn't an ideologue, we would absolutely be screwed if he were, but yes, really Trump does all these horrible things for inane self-aggrandizing reasons.

One thing that stands out is this thing of Trump wouldn't commit to a peaceful transfer of power and Shapiro says "but a peaceful transition did happen." Sam responds about how January 6th was not peaceful, and just cause it happened despite Trump doesn't mean Trump gets any credit. That is the rub, if/when Trump is successful of overcoming the system then it's not really a lot that can be done. Either people will be motivated for mass protests or they will shrug and make the best of it that they can. While the far left is loony too, they don't have the power or sway that the far right does. It is this BS false equivalency that 97% of scientists warn of climate change but the media needs to unquestioning give both sides of the debate 50% of the time.

Most voters do seem to trust their feels more than anything else.

I believe 100% that there are more than enough Americans who are simply not well versed enough in the basics of economics such that they believe Trump when he told them that he’ll bring back 2019’s grocery prices as well as cut their energy bills in half. He will not do either, of course.

Or, you could believe in what some of our conservative members have stated, and blame it all on ‘woke policies’, but that would imply that Trump voters are also believing that your local elementary school runs a secret lunchtime program that changes your child’s gender against your wishes, and sends Johnny back home as Jane at the end of the day.

Neither explanation bodes well for the future general welfare of the voting public, but here we are.
