Cuts to Medicaid pass the Senate

Post by Philo Sofee »

So lets see if the House has any balls shall we? How come no reporters call out Trump for literally LYING when he continually said he wouldn't cut Medicaid?! Has everyone in America become passive wimps because Trump is so scary?

Absolutely vile crap. Evil has put on a blazer and an elephant pin.

His supporters knew he was lying. Class warfare has been one of their schadenfreude wet dreams for years now. This cut will allow them to make bigger tax cuts for the wealthy. This will send our Axis posters into fits of ecstasy.

These so-called moderate GOP members of the House ended up caving to Donald Trump. They chose to please him instead of doing what's best for their constituents. Link

The largest cuts to our safety net ever, in order to offset the biggest giveaway to billionaires ever, via a budget which will increase the debt by 3.4 trillion dollars.

Depriving all those old and disabled people of health care, and increasing the hunger of children to give huge tax breaks to billionaires, reeks of both LDS and Evangelical morality, as well as being the quintessential indicator of the warping power of Republicanism.

These Medicaid cuts are very likely going to be devastating in a few states such as North Carolina.
North Carolina will lose $32bn in the next decade

The Medicaid cuts in the bill could have particularly acute consequences in North Carolina, a politically competitive state, where experts said the bill could trigger a “kill switch” to end Medicaid expansion.

“If the state spends any state dollars to implement the expansion population or expansion coverage, it triggers an automatic ending to Medicaid expansion,” said Kody Kinsley, North Carolina’s former secretary of health and an architect of the state’s Medicaid expansion.

North Carolina is set to lose $32bn in federal funding in the next decade, according to an analysis by the office of the Republican senator Thom Tillis, who represents the state. He’s one of just three Senate Republicans who voted against the bill on Tuesday.

North Carolina’s expansion only went into effect in December 2023, and in less than 19 months it enrolled more than 650,000 people – all of whom will lose coverage if the program ends.

You know... if Trump really wanted to ruin Iran, he could just go be their President for a while...
