I've met a couple of USAF generals, and they seemed like very sharp people. I'm not surprised at reports that the whole room full of hundreds of US general officers sat in silence through the embarrassing rambles by Hegseth and Trump.
I was a teenager before it was cool.

Trump Threatens Generals: (Martial Law) My Way, or the Highway - Wilkerson and Jay

Oct 2, 2025 #petehegseth #donaldtrump #PaulJay
In this episode, Paul Jay and Col. Lawrence Wilkerson analyze a chilling message from Donald Trump to roughly 800 generals: a straight-up demand for loyalty — “If you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future... we know everything about everybody.”

Fall in line or be purged — as Trump lays out a plan to use U.S. armed forces to occupy large American cities labelled “radical left” strongholds.
Does anyone still think it is unlikely that Trump would declare martial law and try to cancel elections altogether if he thought there was strong chance that he and his MAGA administration would lose the next election?
No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

Trump Staff ALL QUIT after SHUTDOWN HITS: "were WALKING OUT!"
Chaos erupted within Donald Trump’s administration as his staff collectively quit following the government shutdown. In a dramatic move, insiders revealed they were “walking out” in protest of the ongoing crisis — here’s the full story behind the mass resignation.

What is the time stamp for that bit? I watched it, but didn’t see it addressed. I might’ve been distracted with chores and whatnot.

I watched that video several times after reading your reply, and I have to honestly admit that, despite its title, it didn't actually say that explicitly in the actual video itself. It was probably more wishful thinking, implication or "click bait" than explicit reality. I would hope that any fully sane and honest members of his staff would actually be did or soon will be motivated to quit, given Trump's demonstrable venality and corruption, at least in their own self-interest, if not out of rationally moral conviction.

I will not apologize for hoping that Trump's staff acquire the backbone and honesty to acknowledge how bereft of competence and morality their leader is. And I'm not discounting the possibility that some of his staff actually have quit or considered quitting.

How about this video: Trump gets RUDE AWAKENING as MILITARY LEADERS QUIT
