That's what we're doing as a society right now and we need to stop. We need to stop it in our interactions on this board. We need to stop it in our in real life one:one interactions. We need to stop it when children are in ear shot. We just need to put the breaks on and tone it down.

Want a healthier society? Then strive to be a healthier individual in word and deed.
Okay, I'll give it a try just for you Jersey Girl. Kumbayah all around!
Hey bird, do whatever you want to do here. I think I recently referred to President as fat face or “F” face, not sure which. I was just trying to explain where I thought honor was coming from in his criticism of you. I have a strong hunch that I come from the same orientation as honor does in that regard.

But we do have a place here where we can express ourselves and often, I think, in such a way that we might not express ourselves to family and friends on the ground. I've got some Trump supporters around me but I will say that the whole scene has toned down to almost nothing at all. And here is the thing, I don't ask why. I don't ask why and I don't rub their noses in the Biden win. I hate politics to begin with and I believe we're all doing our best with what we've got to work through whatever it is we have on our individual and collective plates.

The world that lives in my head isn't black and white, it is gray. I'm just trying to find my way through the fog like everyone else is.

Show me where I said we should ignore what's happening.
It was implied given the context of the conversation.

I don't rub their noses in the Biden win.
Hmm. Depends what you mean by that.

Certainly there is no need to greet Republicans with a big smile, a cheery wave, and the cry "Hey! Trump lost by a landslide!* How do you like that? Suck it up!!"

On the other hand, that Biden did win fair and square, with no cheating, and that Trump lost by a large margin has to be non-negotiable. There are no grounds for reasonable belief to the contrary, and if anybody suggests there are, polite but firm denial is appropriate. This matter is too important for the future of democracy in the US for any part of Trump's lies to be allowed a free pass for the sake of not making his supporters feel challenged.

*Trump called it a landslide last time when he won the same Electoral College margin, but lost the popular vote - which Biden also won handsomely this time.

I've not ran into the QA dude again, but I have peeked at his links. I have written refutations ready for the first 3 minutes of his 3-hour long QAnon conspiracy video. (I've only watched 3 minutes)

In my OP I said:
He claimed that his special forces friends are working directly with Mike Flynn right now and that the military will prevent Biden from taking presidency.
Here's something I didn't know:

https://www.snopes.com/news/2020/12/08/ ... rtial-law/
On Dec. 1, 2020, Michael Flynn, the retired and recently pardoned U.S. Army lieutenant general and former Trump national security adviser, tweeted a link to a lengthy paid advertisement placed in the Washington Times. The ad, created by an obscure, Ohio Tea Party-linked group named We the People Convention, called for “limited martial law”
I hadn't paid close attention, and didn't realize that the whole "declare martial law" thing wasn't even Flynn's idea. He was just doing what today's right-wingers do, and circulated somebody else's meltdown already in print.

I also said this:
So here's how he told it: He said that under Obama, he was not allowed to have ammunition while in Afghanistan because they were only allowed to respond to attacks, and that he had to fear for his life, whereas with Trump, they were allowed to strike first if they felt it was necessary. He spoke generally of not being supported properly under Obama, but supported very well by Trump as a soldier with boots on the ground.
He must be referring to this:

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics ... -explained
“When I took over our military, we did not have ammunition,” Trump said. “I was told by a top general, maybe the top of them all, ‘Sir, I’m sorry sir, we don’t have ammunition.’ I said, I will never let that happen to another president.”
A routine comment by his general embellished into a political platform, and then suddenly, all these right-wing veterans pop up who experienced it first hand. I'm pretty sure now this guy did not experience anything like he claimed.
We can't take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don't have maybe what they're supposed to have. They get rid of some of the people who have been there for 25 years and they work great and then you throw them out and they're replaced by criminals.

Yeah. Doubtless he's one of these, only from a different conflict:

My estimate is, the biggest talkers are also the biggest bs'Relief Society. Also, I could very well be wrong on this one but, when I see a guy with a 'Vietnam vet' cap or bumper sticker, my default thought is...yeah right.

Seems like someone should ask how Joe can possibly get a security clearance given the Hunter situation.
