I doubt that's true. I suspect it's only a minority of idiotic, vocal malcontents who want to secede.

Like you said. It's true but as a fact it is so uncomfortable to Ajax and to those who think like him that they have to find a way of making it go away. For Ajax, it's done by just pretending he doesn't know it. For others, babbling (a lot) seems to be their favourite remedy.

But still, overall the states that vote Democratic, taken as a group, generate a surplus that enables the states that vote Republican, taken as a group, to have things they would otherwise have to do without. That's right, isn't it?

Without question. I've spent most of my time in the US living in red states. Selfishness is a way of life among Republicans.

You really can't substantiate any of that. It's a shame we can't secede and find out. The fact that the left would never allow their tax chattel to liberate themselves kind of proves the point.

None of the states would fare well due to the red states seceding from the Union, but the most disastrous consequences would fall on the red states themselves -- especially upon the non-white citizens of those states, whether they are actually in the minority or not, which is probably one of the stronger motivations for the white, racist advocates of secession to favor secession in the first place.
