It looks like there is also a program called iBank, which syncs banking information on the Mac.
As far as file sharing goes, I have had no adverse issues at all. I have a PC at work, and a Mac at home. Macs have a text edit feature, so even if you don't have Microsoft applications loaded on your Mac, you can still read files and edit them.
Unless one is playing computer games, the OS really doesn't seem to matter much as long as it is stable. You can use the internet in all of them as well as do word processing, Quicken, make a DVD list or run a spreadsheet.
I understand that MACs are a bit unique in that a chapel is included.
You need to hear from Liz and Porter. They are both fully indoctrinated and sing the praises of MAC whether you ask them to or not!
:-)
Oh please, don't become a MAC fanatic. Congrats though on your new acquisition.

Personally, I would say Ubuntu is the best. Even my wife who is a non-computer geek likes our Linux system at home.

Way to go, TD. It's just another tool to do what you need to do, but it allows you do such with much less hassle.
I have an iMac and a Windows PC side by side on my desk. One has not even been turned on once during the past six months. Guess which one. That's especially true since I installed VMWare, with Win XP, although I still can't remember the last time I had to switch to the Windows process to run something.
There are two iMacs in our house, the 24" in my office and another 20" one in the family room. My wife has a Win laptop on her desk (other corner of the office) that she has to use for work, but as soon as work is over and she needs to do something, she heads straight for the family Mac.
Our latest fun acquisition is the AppleTV hooked up to the big screen. It wirelessly accesses all my video and music files on iTunes (and photos on iPhoto). I'm in the process of ripping all our DVD library onto it.
