Honorentheos and Molok,
I agree with both of you that this sad occurrence should not be used for political purposes. But it's the Left that's using to beat on Tea Party people. I heard a California congresswoman, Loretta Sanchez, use it for partisan political purposes last night on ABC radio.

Indeed, politicians like using things to their advantage all the time.
It's one of the things I rather dislike about politics... along with all the finger pointing and name calling and denouncing advertisements, etc.

the terms like "killobamacare" and "take back our country" are not especially helpful.
You think some nut might think now, the rules are if the Pres is shot, then the VP steps in. If both are shot then the leader of the House of Reps takes over. Right? Interesting way for the extreme right to "take back our country"

Yah, they aren't... I'd rather the politicians just together and get something done rather than make big fusses over things. There seems to be too much fussing and arguing, and not even work.

Then-USA Today columnist and Pacifica Radio talk show host Julianne Malveaux on Justice Thomas. The man is on the Court. You know, I hope his wife feeds him lots of eggs and butter and he dies early like many black men do, of heart disease. Well, that’s how I feel. He is an absolutely reprehensible person.

ABC News presents video of an interview with Loughner's close friend, who says:
"He did not watch TV. He disliked the news. He didn’t listen to political radio. He didn’t take sides. He wasn’t on the left. He wasn’t on the right."

Where's the apology to Palin and people on talk radio. The Left accused them without evidence and the Left was wrong again.

Your own source says he wasn't on the left, but you call him a "leftie" in the other thread.
I don't know of anyone on the left who has said Palin or talk radio is directly to blame for this, so stop beating the straw man and deal with the fact that the level of violent hate rhetoric has reached new lows, and it mostly comes from the far right via scare tactics to strike fear and ignorance into the people. That is what talk radio does, as does FOX News. They are propaganda outlets used in the same way Hitler used the media to brainwash his audience and justify violence. And the faces for each outlet is almost always some uneducated fool like Palin, Beck, Hannity or Limbaugh. I mean FOX News immediately attacks the Sheriff who said things that everyone already knew, because they knew very well their job is to protect their RIght Wing politicians. Fox News Abruptly Cuts Feed From Giffords Vigil When Mourner Mentions Sarah Palin and Megan Kelly proved she is scum of the earth for attacking the Sheriff for stating the obvious, calling him a Democrat as if his opinion had no merit because he was biased or something. As if a sheriif has no sense of his community's pulse when it comes to hate crimes, and should never opine on the matter if it might imply Republicans are encouraging the hate rhetoric. Accusing him of "politicizing" this is idiotic of her, but I know she was just taking order from higher powers. But the fact is it became "politicized" the second someone targeted a politician and her entire staff!!
The lesson is that words have meaning... but you guys already knew that or else you never would have adopted slogans with not-so-veiled threats.

The shooter's hatred of Rep. Giffords dates back to 2007. Do you think a time machine was involved? Also, where is the evidence that the shooter ever identified a) followed Sarah Palain or b) identified with the tea party?
