I've always suspected it was you, Shades.

Which is exactly my point..... You're a ex-member, inactive, whatever, and you need your porn, so you get it online.

You can't really go to the local strip club and get your rocks off, or the local brothel, or buy some porn mag's as easy, on and on. So, you get your sex interest online.

Of course, you may have just been joking for yourself, but the point is the same.
Of course, I'm also not saying Mormons don't partake also sometimes, but the high rate is the culture and environment caused by Mormonism, not because Mormons are creating the high rate.

Thus, those who claim the high rate is because of a bunch of sexual repressed and perverted Mormons, since Utah is high in Mormons, are completely missing the mark and making a false judgment.

If it is a world problem, then oven mitt sales should be brisk this holiday season.

ldsfaq - can you link to the data supporting your theory that the problem is isolated within the ex/non Mormon community?

Can you give a source for that stat? I'm not saying I doubt you, it just piqued my curiosity, and I can't find it anywhere online.

Obviously there is no way to get that kind of data, but it is common sense.
Having internet porn usually requires a credit card etc., and LDS wouldn't generally risk a monthly charge such as that. Yes, I know they mask it some with a non-obvious name, but still, it's detectable when some odd charge is regular.

Further, porn is easily accessible for free and for plenty online. There is no reason LDS would need to "pay" for it in order to get it, and make it more likely they would get caught. Remember, the study in question shows "paid for" porn, not the viewing of porn period.

Also, as I mentioned above, porn is harder to get in Utah, thus the non-member would go online to pay for their porn, since they can't pay for it in stores, video stores, strip clubs, etc. as easily. Plus, being in mormondom, those who like porn and are the more upstanding citizen would likely want to keep it more quite, so even if they can access some porn on the outside, they would be less likely to, to not be seen.

Anyway, there are many reasons that make the porn viewing problem to exist with primarily the non-mormon or jack Mormon, when really only some 40% of the state is actively Mormon today. Of course, non of this is to say Mormons don't view porn, they do, but not anything abnormal as relates to the study. Again, the study only determines paid for porn, thus the likelyhood a Mormon would pay for it is slim.

Can you give a source for that stat? I'm not saying I doubt you, it just piqued my curiosity, and I can't find it anywhere online.

I don't remember where it comes from, but it came from some sales study or something I think.

Yes, I am speaking from experience. I'm a computer and internet expert, and I'm an objective learner. I study all things, so I can know all sides and know what the actual truth of things are. Thus, yes, I'm also well familar with the filth that is online, that anyone can easily access.

At least in the old days you had to be exposed to some porn magazine some immoral dad had, or some immoral store owner would sale you.

Today, it's a sad state.

Further, your comment is a sad state of affairs, how people like you willingly degrade and make off handed comments, and slander about people. You are an example of what's wrong with the world.
