Re: Post the #1 billboard hit on your birthday!
Sadly, I born in one of the few weeks Elvis Presley didn't have a #1 hit. Instead, this Les Baxter recording of "The Poor People of Paris" was top of the charts.
My dad was a huge fan of Les Baxter's album, Le Sacre du Sauvage, and music like this was some of the first I probably ever heard.

The Beatles were the up and coming group in 1964.
I Want To Hold Your Hand was top of the charts on my birthday.
Fun topic, Stak! :-)

No, I don't drive a Chrysler. ;)
But, I do love the song, though I prefer the Gypsy Kings' version.

At least it was in the month and year of my birthday. Was it on the day? I don't know.

"Sherry" by the Franki Valli and the Four Seasons, as song which may have been the result of a gypsy curse.

Come Softly To Me, The Fleetwoods
I've never heard it. Sounds rather pedestrian.

OMG! You are soooo young.
Mine would be "(How Much Is) That Doggie in the Window?". I feel soooo old.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

My Dad went to High School with two of the members of the Fleetwoods. Gary Troxel used to sit in my Dad's car and smoke before class.
"Come Softly to Me" was their first hit. You may consider it "pedestrian" -- perhaps "organic" would be more polite. They only recorded "Come Softly ..." at the insistence of their Olympia High classmates, and the recording was almost impromptu. The only "musical accompaniment" is the sound of Gary Troxel softly tossing his keys to keep time. I believe the song has been used in several films.

Hey, me too!
Just missed "Heartbreak Hotel" by six days. Now I'll have to go listen to that Paris song, cuz I never heard of it before.
