Bill's speech was rivaled only by Michelle's. She was incredible.

Fantastic actress as well.

You mean like Eastwood and his chair did to Romney?
Yeah, but Eastwood upstaged in a negative way. Clinton, if in fact he did draw as much attention, did so in a positive way, really building up Obama powerfully.
Think about that though. All Eastwood could do was tear down Obama, and in a bizarre way. He hardly said crap about his candidate, Mitt Romney. Clinton also talked a lot about Obama, but it was all positive, funny, powerful, and he was building up his own candidate, not just attacking his foes.
I'm not too concerned. He's really a different type of speaker, I think. A convention attendee said last night that Clinton is clever prose while Obama is passionate poetry.
Clinton was far more than just clever prose. It was clever prose mixed with masterful delivery and very expressive body language.
That kind of made sense to me. It's a bit like one speaking more to the brain and the other more to the heart, if that doesn't sound too corny. Anyway, I trust it will be a natural three-day build, from Michelle to Bill to Barack. He just needs to do his own thing and not try to be Bill.
If anything, Obama appeals more to my brain than my heart, at least at times. It's one of the things that attracted me to his candidacy back in the very early days of the 2008 campaign, when he was still a small fry and doing radio show interviews and whatnot. I heard him talk and thought holy crap, this guy actually thinks and, you know, knows things. Heaven forbid, I know. :-)

The writers from that alternate universe who wrote the American Thinker article must have watched a very different speech from what I saw. They made it sound all sinister and whatnot, but in the end, Obama couldn't, in his wildest dreams have asked for anything more from Bill Clinton.

Yes, I liked her speech too.
Really, Obama couldn't have asked for a better convention so far. He's been well served by those in charge of it, and his fellow convention speakers.
I watched some of the RNC convention, and honestly, theirs sucked by comparison.

The Democrats have better speakers, better videos/production/scheduling, and a better set of facts to play with. Easy for them to have a better convention.

The Unemployment rate was a lot lower during Bill Clinton’s fourth year in office than it is now when he ran for re-election.
1996 - Jan. 5.6% Feb. 5.5% Mar. 5.5% Apr. 5.6% May 5.6% June 5.3% July 5.5% Aug 5.1% Sept. 5.2% Oct. 5.2%.
The Unemployment rate was also lower during George W. H. Bush's fourth year in office than it is now when he ran for re-election.
1992 - Jan. 7.3% Feb. 7.4% Mar. 7.4% Apr. 7.4% May 7.6% June 7.8% July 7.7% Aug. 7.6% Sept.7.6% Oct. 7.3%.
George W. H. Bush ended up losing his re-election bid mainly because of the semi-bad economy back then. Why should Barack Obama get re-elected this year when the economy is worse now than it was back in 1992?

Because we were on the brink of a full-scale financial panic and possible depression when Obama took office, in addition to fighting two unfunded and endless wars.
There are no magic wands. It takes time to come back from something like that. Our economy is growing again. Not as fast as we would like, but growing. (despite the efforts of republicans to handicap Obama to boot)
