What has one to do with the other?

You must not live in the US. In the case of Zimmerman, they are casting doubt on his upbringing and membership in a culture and a "protected minority" class.

Which is interesting, as the very same Left that controls public education in places like Los Angeles will fling a public school student into bilingual education classes (virtually guaranteeing academic difficulties) based on nothing more than his last name, even though he and his family may have been in this country for generations and have no particular connection to Mexico other than that last name and a love of Mexican food.

The problem with the Left, boiled down to the bone and marrow, is that the kind of society it ultimately seeks to create is feudal in nature, based in status and identity-group membership, not upon individual unalienable rights and free, contractual relationships with other individuals capable of seeing themselves as Americans and human beings first and tending away from defining themselves as parts of organic tribal entities.

If you want to make that an issue, you really need to do some personal reflection and try to understand why that matters to you.

The only thing that matters to me in the Zimmerman case is the left trying to paint this Hispanic man as a southern WASP KKK member guilty of a modern day lynching. It looks like a brown on black fight to me. But if you can't make Zimmerman white, you can't make him a racist. That's why they chose to call him white instead of Hispanic, is it not?

I still wonder why the Hispanic community isn't standing up for one of their own who is about to get a very unfair legal outcome to pacify a mob. What happened to, you mess with the bean and you get the whole burrito?

This is so stupid.

Have any of you never met a white Latino? I know two Mexicans that are as lily white as me and a Cuban with blond hair and blue eyes. Skin color ranges from black to white all over South and Central America, just like it does here. There are those with a racial prejudice against people with darker skin there as well. Have you ever watched Telemundo? Most the people there are about as white as me. Same thing as Univision.

Kind of reminds me of the time when Bush II was surprised to learn that there are black people in Brazil...
