That article argues, persuasively, that the particularly bad homeless problem in the LA-area is caused by a dual combination of lack of affordable housing and poor services for the homeless driven by bad approaches from local politicians.

I am going to try to figure out how to hide my camera, and walk a few of these areas and talk with some of these folks and try to show you how it is up close...

Markk, people know what homelessness is like. You don't need to video document it to convince people on a message board. Secretly videotaping homeless people and disparaging their condition is not the most ethical choice in the world. You shouldn't do it.

The guy in question is just one of many thousands in so cal, wandering the streets. I have asked you many times...who is going to follow these folks around and make sure they are taken care of on a daily basis?

I have a friend that is a Sheriff, and he brought in a homeless guy to the jail, and they had to give him a shower. When they tried to take his socks off it was pealing off his skin so they had take him to the hospital to have his socks removed. These types are all over the place. I was in subway getting sandwich in down town, and a guy walked in fro a cup of water and he literally cleared out the restaurant in that he had not cleaned himself in who knows how long.

Your takeaway from that was this means that services can't do anything?

You live in a "paper world"...which is imaginary EAllusion, that is why I asked you some of the personal questions you would not answer.

I referred to a specific example of programs I personally oversee that I personally have witnessed having the outcomes I described, and your response to that is that I'm living in an imaginary world because you see homeless people on the streets.

LA and So Ca. has all those and a much larger budget...why has homelessness grown at least 75% in the past 5 years or so?

In the article you linked, it argues that LA is woefully underfunded in resources relative to its size and has focused on approaches to the homeless that are quite different that what was referred to in the list I gave.

Exactly my thoughts. I remember back in 2004 when four hurricanes hit Florida in September. I remember driving through neighborhoods and filming the devastation. It didn't even dawn on me how humiliating this was to the victims until one man screamed at me to stop filming as he was crying about having lost his home and car. I was an idiot then, and Markk is acting like one now.

That is such a cop out. It is funny how now I am the boogie man. Did you ever think that if people actually know what is going on more people might be receptive to deal with the issues and help? Or are only people doing these studies allowed to film and witness the problem...if they do so at all. Most probably just build off of other studies and internet statistics anyway without actually witnessing the problem.

Residential agencies with funding coming from SSDI/MA/Medicare? You don't know the first thing about this subject and you take your seemingly inexhaustible ignorance as proof that nothing can be done because you can't imagine solutions that people who have professional expertise have been doing for years and years.

You know what I do for a living? I'm a bit of a swiss army knife that helps people or people who take care of individuals with brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and pervasive mental health have programs to hopefully maximize their quality of life. Billions of dollars on spent on this nationally. And you go out in your car filming homeless people speculating that there's nothing out there who can take care of someone whose needs are great.
