One of the weird things about Drumpf is that he seems ultra-concerned about his popularity, and yet almost everything he does is anti-social. It's like he thinks popularity is something you're born with - that your behavior is a non-factor, and everyone should just admire you for being a Drumpf.

In other words, he thinks like a child. Unfortunately, there are other children feeding his childish beliefs.
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Hrm. I guess the old truism that a Consevative would eat a crap sandwich just to make a Liberal smell their breath holds true.

DJT is by every known metric a total failure as a man, husband, father, and leader. His supporters, which have really been demonstrated in the most visceral of object lessons on this very board, seem drawn to this quality of man, which is mind boggling. As a reasonable adult, one should be socially adept enough to assess, absorb, and digest the content of one’s character based on the sum totality of their reputation and established behavior. Given this, I've never in my life seen a more morally deficient and inadequate man than this President of OUR United States, which hurts to say.

He's the single most deeply ignorant person I have ever seen in my life. Watching him read is painful. Listening to him orate is torture. The man literally cannot speak at length on a complex subject (or any subject) and navigate the discourse successfully enough to promote his beliefs and express his points with any consistency or aptitude, making him unqualified to comment on matters social, cultural, economic, and political while the rest of us suffer. He’s an unreasonably inept, emotionally bankrupt, self-aggrandizing infantile braggart with no genuine friendships or relationships of substance. Every aspect of his professional and personal life is void of authenticity. This is an apparently ‘successful’ man who has the linguistic coherence of a gibbering simpleton. He's LDSFAQs born into a lottery ticket situation.

What kind of repulsive ignoramus hasn’t read a novel in 60 years, and refuses to read long-form text out of shear laziness? Surely not the the same malcontent who walks through the dressing rooms of naked 15-year-old girls, cheats at golf and in all of his relationships (while also sexualizing his daughter), and who is so untethered from reality that he’s void of any empathy or humanity. He's the embodiment of unbridled, crippling narcissism and perversion and fraudulence.

What shakes me to my core is if one can't form a nuanced conclusion free of restraint and bias in regards to character, then nobody can be trusted and everyone is the enemy. That's his voting base. Trump has zero integrity and is entirely artificial and excessively vain. That’s about the extent of his persona and if people can’t see that at this juncture then that person is a certifiable dumbass or perhaps some kind of sycophantic nihilist or some combination thereof.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/09/asia/nor ... index.html

-- 1985: North Korea signs the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, or the NPT -- "a landmark international treaty whose objective is to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, to promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to further the goal of achieving nuclear disarmament and general and complete disarmament," according to the United Nations.

-- 1992: North and South Korea sign a "joint declaration of the Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. "The South and the North shall not test, manufacture, produce, receive, possess, store, deploy or use nuclear weapons" and they "shall use nuclear energy solely for peaceful purposes," it states.

-- 1994: North Korea pledges to the United States that it would freeze and eventually dismantle its nuclear program in exchange for international aid, including help building two power-producing nuclear reactors.

-- 2002: US President George W. Bush labels North Korea, Iran and Iraq an "axis of evil," saying that "by seeking weapons of mass destruction, these regimes pose a grave and growing danger." The administration later reveals North Korea admitted to operating a secret nuclear weapons program in violation of the 1994 deal.

-- 2003: The United States and other nations halt energy aid, and North Korea withdraws from the NPT. Later, the Six Party Talks begin over Pyongyang's nuclear program. The talks include the United States, China, Japan, Russia, South Korea and North Korea.

-- 2005: North Korea tentatively agrees to give up its entire nuclear program, including weapons. In exchange, the United States, China, Japan, Russia and South Korea say they will provide energy assistance to North Korea, as well as promote economic cooperation.

-- 2006: North Korea claims to have successfully tested its first nuclear weapon. The test prompts the UN Security Council to impose a broad array of sanctions.

-- 2008: The Six Party Talks break down over North Korea's refusal to allow international inspectors unfettered access to suspected nuclear sites, according to the Arms Control Association. North Korea says the US side fails to follow through on its commitments, too.

-- 2010: State media in North Korea report that the government issued a memo saying the country "will be party to nonproliferation and disarmament agreements 'on an equal footing with other nuclear weapons states.'"

-- 2011: "After a meeting between Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, Pyongyang says that it would be willing to observe a moratorium on the production and testing of nuclear weapons and missiles" in the context of resumption of Six Party Talks," according to the Arms Control Association.

-- 2012, North Korea agrees to suspend the operations of its Yongbyon uranium enrichment plant and begin moratoriums on nuclear and long-range missile tests. Washington promises food aid. Washington later says it suspended the food aid after North Korea said it would launch a satellite.

-- 2016: North Korea signals a willingness to resume negotiations on denuclearization, according to the Arms Control Association.

Once again a Trump supporter demonstrates a clear and unambiguous lack of historical perspective on a diplomatic issue. They're completely uninformed, delusional, and myopic.

It really says something about Trump supporters when the National Security Advisor is skeptical toward the NK regime:

U.S. national security adviser John Bolton reacted coolly to word that Kim would abandon his weapons if the United States pledged not to invade.

Asked on CBS' "Face the Nation" whether the U.S. would make such a promise, Bolton said: "Well, we've heard this before. This is — the North Korean propaganda playbook is an infinitely rich resource."

I mean, if they abandon their nuclear weapons program, allows the UN to oversee its 'dismantlization', and works toward peaceful relations with China and SK then I'd be more than happy to give Mr. Trump his due.

It isn't a secret that Bolton is jonesing hard for war with N. Korea. I wish there was more national attention on the fact that why we are dealing with a nuclear armed N. Korea in the first place has a lot to do with Bolton being one of the most forceful advocates in the Bush admin for telling N. Korea they're next in the wake of the Iraq invasion.

national attention is difficult when the democratic hair fire du jour is Fox news appearances, press dinner jokes, and Bill Cosby. Problem with NK story is that it relies on substance and the Democratic platform for 2018 is all about style.
