I answered directly, but note that Obama wouldn't invite Kanye because Kanye didn't worship Obama. Butmy cited examples are similar, if not worse, than inviting "a Kanye"(yes you're racist).

Point being, the Repubs didn't go all scorched earth character assasination. So while it may not have gone "great" it sure wouldn't have goneas embarrassing and shameful as those who are ridiculing Kanye/President.

There was a full-on media right-wing freakout over Common being invited to the whitehouse. Common, the most whitebread rapper ever. Then there was this:

I loved Common in John Wick 2. He was fantastic. Does Common have any lyrics in his music that is awful, and was unbecoming for a President to associate with?

Why not just link the source instead of this screenshot? It wasn't actually Fox News, it was a satellite opinion site under the fox umbrella. I'm not seeing the huge freakout. I am seeing race baiting response to an opinion piece of no consequence.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/Brian Laundrie ... 6ad0325fa7

It's the typical race baiting.

“Fox’s choice of headlines and the stories that they emphasize seem designed to attract and encourage racist commenters,” Media Matters wrote

Obama is president: Comment on the fact that the president is hosting parties with his rapper buddies, you're a racist.

Trump is president: A rapper is vilified, called the N word and a "race traitor" for supporting his president. Media and liberals everywhere disparage both the rapper and the president. The president invites him to the white house, is accused of both being a racist and taking advantage of a mentally handicapped person. The black man is handicapped because he chooses to not be a democrat.

I don't even get the comparison. Was Trump in a hot tub with Kanye and Kim in the oval office? Obama was hosting closed door parties with these people and we don't really even know what all went down. Trump has this guy in the oval office very briefly, surrounded by media, and everybody freaks out. What are you talking about? Seriously, what are you talking about? So racist.

Anyone on the Left going to show some integrity about the Obama's hosting racists who condemned mixed-race marriages? Any thoughts on hosting Common who praised the Black Panther Assata Shakur who was convicted for shooting a New Jersey police officer in 1973? No? Anyone want to post lyrics, absolutely filthy, woman-hating lyrics by rappers who performed for the Obamas?

Anyone?

No?

Just gonna crap all over Kanye for saying something relatively benign about his support for Trump?

Any integrity? No?

Common's performance in Hell on Wheels was absolutely incredible (in my opinion, of course).

Regarding the OP. I honestly don't know much about Kanye (other than the media brouhaha, and that The College Dropout is a fantastic album), but... from the tidbits that have been showing up in media over the last couple of months, I think he may be bipolar.

In reading that quote, and some of the other stuff that's been happening lately, it almost seems like he's going through a bit of hypomanic phase, or is in the first weeks of taking a new mood stabilizer.
