Well, they did make the initial mistake of being more friendly than not to the new invaders that had showed no loyalty to their own previous home, as demonstrated by their abandonment of it.

EAllusion wrote:Bill Clinton’s impeachment was dubious. Trump has committed the most egregious impeachable conduct in history. Assuming that the public will react the exact same to each case strikes me as the hastiest of hasty generalizations.

"Most egregious impeachable conduct in history?" Perhaps you could elaborate on this because I don't see it as far as Russiagate. Maybe impeach him for his warmongering in Yemen, the Venezuela nonsense, and attempts to create an excuse to go to war in Iran. But, russiagate? There looks to be a jujitsu move coming via Barr's investigations. The Steele Dossier was born from politics (opposition research) and that plus the Strzok texts could be used to sell the witch hunt narrative that enough could buy. Trump could come off as actually a sympathetic character in the narrative if impeachment is pushed too hard.

Almost as great as you responding with the same stupid crap acting like you've never come across any evidence or reason why the most lawless President in history should be impeached. It's been tossed right up in your face at least a dozen times. But keep doing the stupid thing. It suits you.

"The most lawless President in history" seems a bit of an exaggeration. I don't like Trump, but how about we come back to what's real and leave Mormonism once and for all? Emotional reasoning doesn't work and I think it is a real problem with politics today. Russiagate became a religion with Maddow leading the case for fear every night. Do you think Vlad will cut off our power in the dead of winter? Was there any truth to the power grid being taken over in Vermont? Did Manafort visit Assange? Were there Nephites?

Of course, I'm the dumb one for bringing up these unworthy questions. Back to the impeachment drumbeat, no matter if it ultimately helps Trump.

Again, you're a damned idiot to sit there pretending you have no idea what Trump has done to warrant impeachment. We've gone through the lists several times and you have no response other than the usual BS about how Bernie was robbed by Hillary therefore you're going to take up some Right Wing talking points to get back at the DNC.

You can say you don't agree with the examples, but to sit there and act like nothing has ever been presented is just a waste of time for everyone. It is borderline trollish behavior no better than ajax or subgenius. Yes, no other President comes even close to the lawlessness of Trump. Get up to speed or just stay stupid for the rest of your life. I don't really care.

But Kevin, I thought we had a friendship connection or something? Why so rude? Anyway, Russiagate is dying and thank God for that. Pelosi won't allow impeachment, so it seems. So, why not move on? How about we move to tackling the pocketbook issues? Clinton lost. Time to move on. How about we do the next best thing to impeachment by focusing on the issues people want like stopping the wars and making healthcare work? Trump will lose unless we allow him to latch on to a superficial issue like russiagate where he can use his TV clown skills to belittle opponents. I know tabloidy spy novels sell air time, but the crowds tire of it and want costs lowered and wages increased. It's the economy stupid, not russiagate.

While I don't think Vlad will cut off our power, if you feel that there is nothing to worry about when Russians hack computer voting systems in Florida, we are not talking about a Russiagate Religion, we are talking about facts.

Our Greatest Christian President seems to have a distinct preference to Russian Oligarchs over asylum seekers. The President has refused to say that he would not accept foreign intelligence on an opponent in 2020. If you are okay with that, basically you are saying 'welcome' to any foreign government to try to influence our elections.

As far as Trump being the most lawless President in our history: If that is an exaggeration, I am curious: Who do you say is the most lawless? Where does Trump fall on the list? I think he is UNQUESTIONABLY the biggest documented liar to ever hold the office.

He is also perfectly willing to destroy the reputation of anyone trying to investigate him. If you accuse Rachel Maddow of hyperbole, what about Trump himself? If you held the President to the same standards of truthfulness that you expect from Rachel, what about the statements Trump has made about Sessions, Mueller, Comey, et al?

Trump's lawyer made the argument that Congress does not have the right to investigate the President. Are you comfortable with that? Does that seem like the proper delineation between the Executive and Legislative branch? If it does, let's just bag the Constitution and elect a King every 4 years.

And keep in mind the desperate battle to prevent Congress from seeing the unredacted Mueller report. If it's no big deal, why all the fuss?
