Lolol. Oh my god. You do realize you don't need the actual physical server to get all the information off it? From CNN instead of me:

the FBI looked at the imaged copies of the DNC server -- essentially an electronic copy of everything that was on the server -- as the feds conducted their own investigation.

The fact that the FBI didn't look at the actual, physical server -- although it was no different than the imaged copy created by Crowdstrike -- has led some conspiracy theorists to suggest that the "real" server has been secreted away somewhere. LIke Ukraine! Why Ukraine? Because there is a rumor -- a wrong one -- circulating around the Internet that the founder of Crowdstrike is Ukrainian. He is not; he is a Russian-born American citizen.

Please tell me you didn't fall for the 4chan, yes it started as a 4chan conspiracy that the server went to Ukraine, and that's why the damned President asked about it.

All I can tell you is that I worked with the FBI in the early 2010's reference two espionage cases and one domestic terrorist case, and I worked with the *** in Iraq targeting financial networks and high value targets. It was and is common practice to get electronic images of all sorts of devices, servers (and their related 'client' devices) included. You cannot alter a device without it being obvious that information was deleted, altered, or is missing information from client devices. It's impossible. If the FBI got an electronic image of the DNC server, and discovered that, say, one of the platform's information hadn't been included in the copy it would've been immediately apparent. You cannot fake the funk with a server. It's impossible.

The FBI had evidence of potential collusion between members of the Trump campaign and Russia with regard to that interference. It did exactly what it was supposed to do: an investigation. That investigation became the Mueller investigation. No one involved in that investigation ever “advertised” anything about the investigation, let alone about collusion. They investigated and they reported.

There is no evidence of any mistakes by the intelligence agencies other than the fever dreams of conspiracy theorists. Trump’s phone call with the Ukraine president is part of a broader effort to manufacture evidence to support Trump’s re-election. Sure, intelligence agencies can make mistakes or act improperly. But sending Rudy Giuliani to chase after bizarre conspiracy theories is not the way to investigate anything. Neither is coercing other countries into making up evidence.

If you want to see a real live actual conspiracy, just open your eyes and look at Trump, Barr, Giuliani, and Pompeo.

Don't gaslight me bro???? Mueller based his conclusions on a redacted report from crowdstrike, a firm hired by the DNC, regarding the email theft. He never gained possession of the actual server to do a proper investigation and he didn't bother to interview Assange (who denied that any state actor provided him with the emails). I think it is far from proven. The mueller report is merely like an indictment and as you know, sometimes prosecutors can't get convictions on their indictments.

The dossier turned out to be opposition research, that Ohr warned the FBI about in 2016, during the campaign. This fact was conspicuously left out of the fisa warrant application. Looks like someone may have jumped the gun and possibly for political reasons. https://thehill.com/opinion/white-house/425739-fisa-shocker-doj-official-warned-steele-dossier-was-connected-to-clinton

Sure, investigate Trump but let's see how russiagate evolved as well. We are talking about politics and all sides use dirty tricks. Trump is a buffoon and asking the Ukrainian president to investigate Biden was highly questionable. However, getting the fisa warrant in 2016 was also highly questionable and it started an investigation into a political opponent based on paid for opposition research.

You’re still doing it. You have no idea what Mueller based his conclusions on, let alone that they were based solely on a redacted report. That’s because Barr won’t release the exhibits to the report, even to the relevant committees. But it’s obvious that the FBI went far beyond what Crowdstrike did. Crowdstrike based their conclusions on the malware they found on the servers. They had expertise in attacks of this type, and were familiar with the two Russian groups based on past experience. And they’ve said multiple times that they gave all of their evidence and analysis to the FBI. Mueller’s report goes way beyond Crowdstrike’s work. It traces the progression of the attacks, from the first fishing attacks on a wide range of individuals, to breaking into the DCCCs network, to Podesta’s computer, and ultimately to the DNC. It identifies specific members of the Russian military involved in different phases of the attack. It described the server the Russians installed in Arizona and another in Malaysia that were used in the attack. It quotes from e-mails to which Crowdstrike had no access.

Crowdstrike worked off of images of servers, and it gave those images to the FBI. Those images are the best evidence of the state of the servers at the time that Crowdstrike started its work — not the server hardware weeks or months later. And there is zero reason to believe that Crowdstrike gave inaccurate or altered images to the FBI. What a bunch of dudes in the tinfoil hat brigade imagine could be true is not evidence or a reason to conduct an investigation. This conspiracy nonsense has been pushed non-stop by Russian government controlled media, and it’s based on speculation that contradicts fact.

And Assange? Who cares. He’s been cagey about his sources, and fueled the despicable Seth Rich conspiracy rumor. He published documents the Russians stole. He requested them through a fictional character created by the Russians. Whether he revived them directly from the Russians or through an intermediary is a minor detail. And it’s irrelevant to the identity of the thief whole stole the documents.

Personally, I think “FISA abuse” is redundant. I’m not a fan. But your description of use of the Steele dossier in the FISA application for Carter Page is inaccurate. First, the copy that was released has pages and pages and pages of the material setting out the basis for the warrant redacted. It is clear that the material from the Steele dossier was a small portion of the facts presented to the court.

Second, only one part of the dossier was used — the report of a meeting between Page and an official of Gazprom. It was accompanied by a footnote that explained where the information had come from, including the FBI’s “speculation” that it was campaign opposition research. The application argued, correctly, that the person who obtained the information was not aware of who the ultimate client was and was a trusted source used by the FBI in the past.

Third, the FBI had been concerned about Page’s contacts with the Russians in the past, and had conducted surveillance on him before.

So, in short, your claim of FISA abuse is based on a small part of the evidence, the provenance of which was explained to the judge, and for which there is zero evidence of bias by the investigator. How in the world can you call this evidence of a conspiracy, while describing Trump’s phone call as just unfortunate?

I spent some time reading up on forensic analysis of computers and servers. All of the sites say the first thing to do is to seize the computer or server. Here is a justice department article on the subject: https://nij.ojp.gov/topics/articles/new-approaches-digital-evidence-acquisition-and-analysis

Even Comey said that the correct procedure is to seize the server: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=M7kh2bZw5Ic

Why seize the server? To overcome objections to tampering with the evidence. Isn't it possible that the DNC servers were altered between the time the FBI requests them and Crowdstrike provides the FBI with the redacted information? I know you dismiss this as tinfoil hat conspiracy theory, but why give these people ammunition for their conspiracies? It's a chain of custody problem that weakens the evidence. Why allow that?

Wikileaks discloses the CIA Vault 7 documents that show how the CIA can hack a server and falsely attribute the hack to someone else.

Why not interview Assange and see if there is anything to his testimony that no state actor gave him the DNC emails? Failing to do so seems to fan the flames of your tinfoil brigade. Why not look at this head on and squelch their theories? I don't see why one wouldn't want to do so if truth were the goal instead of narrative support.

Here is an article by a former CIA analyst on the Crowdstrike issue:

Of course you seize the equipment, Exile. However, once you get a complete forensic copy of the chip or hard drive it’s unnecessary and ridiculous to ship the physical equipment to every analyst. You just send the digital copy. There wasn’t, and isn’t, any point in the FBI going to CrowdStrike, and making their own digital copy. Regardless, even if they did do that then the brainlets on the Right would just claim the DNC altered or destroyed evidence prior to sending it to CrowdStrike.

CrowdStrike said that "with regards to our investigation of the DNC hack in 2016, we provided all forensic evidence and analysis to the FBI. As we've stated before, we stand by our findings and conclusions that have been fully supported by the US Intelligence community."

You either accept reality, or you go all in on the Trump-4chan nonsense.

At least you admit that of course you seize the server. I'm sure pedophiles would love to have pedocleansweep, inc be able to provide police/fbi with the mirrors of their computers. Anyway, why Comey didn't press this leaves a lot of questions for your 4chan conspiracy theorists to chew on. Perhaps the better course would have been to actually follow procedure and seize the server so as to blunt these 4chan'ers? Instead, given the FBI lost Clinton's email server and didn't press to seize the DNC server .......

From wiki:

Clinton's IT contractors turned over her personal email server to the FBI on August 12, 2015,[27] as well as thumb drives containing copies of her emails.[145][146]

Do you have a source I can check out reference the claim the FBI lost Clinton's server?

As near as I can tell? Clinton not being thrown in jail is Exiled's primary issue on the matter.

Conspiracy theorists are never satisfied because they interpret all evidence that contradicts their theory to be part of the conspiracy. I’ve pointed out several falsehoods that Exiled has posted in this thread. Has that caused him to stop and reconsider his position? Hell no! He does what every conspiracy theorist does — he leaps yippy skippy to some new thing. Notice how he went from Mueller relied on a redacted report from Crowdstrike to OMG there was no final Crowdstrike report without batting an eye? It doesn’t matter how many facts you give to a conspiracy theorist, they won’t stop inventing a conspiracy.

There is no evidence that Crowdstrike lied about and doctored the content of multiple servers. There is no evidence that the CIA used its espionage tools to break into multiple servers and then frame Russia. There is no evidence that Seth Rich stole and leaked documents to WikiLeaks and then was killed for it. There is no evidence of missing servers. There is no evidence that a server is hidden in the Ukraine. There is no evidence that the FBI is lying about all the other evidence showing that the hacking and theft was done by the Russian government.

One can always invent a conspiracy theory to “explain” a set of facts. That’s why it’s important to focus on evidence rather than just jump to the conclusion that there must have been a conspiracy. Ironically, Exiled is fixated on a speculative conspiracy theory when actual evidence of a real conspiracy if unfolding right in front of him.

I always thought she should've been fined and had her clearance revoked. I think jail would've been over the top because nothing that was discovered caused irreparable damage to the US gov's interests.

Anyway. I look forward to Exile's sources so I can get a little bit closer to the truth. :)
